The newest face to represent Chanel No5 will be none other than Brad Pitt (according to The Perfume Shrine). An extraordinary development – I think it is great!
Going back in time, the seventies saw Catherine Deneuve (1973) as the face of Chanel N°5. An excellent pick. The best compliment I ever got (and that I treasure and remember fondly) was by the father of a dear friend. He said that I look like Catherine Deneuve (I have to say, this was at a wedding and I did look a bit better than usually).
Whether it is true or not, it doesn’t matter – I can certainly smell like her… 😉

She is so damn sexy… this is by far my favorite Chanel ad, probably because she is also such a convincing actress. Hope you get Chanel No 5 for Mother’s Day (although I was under the impression you already own it … or are you hoping for another bottle?) 😀
Although I always think of you as looking like Grace Kelly, now that I’m looking up close at Catherine Deneuve’s eyes, I would agree with your friend’s father … in fact, I’m thinking Deneuve might be a closer fit. Do you speak French, B?

I learned French in high school, but it would be an overstatement to say I speak the language. I can read most of it, and know how to pronounce, but that’s it. 🙂
I understand that Catherine Deneuve is quite a perfumista! I would love to try the sadly discontinued Deneuve and I read that Francis Kurkdjian first made Lumiere Noire as a bespoke scent for her before he started his own perfume brand.
I like the slightly melancholy air of this add.
She is apparently, she also loves Malle perfumes and wears many of them.
I have a decant of Deneuve (thanks to Suzanne) and it is a beautiful chypre.
