It is time again to make a list!
What are your top ten perfumes without which you wouldn’t want to live?
Which ones are your top priority?
Which ones would you immediately replace if used up?
Which ten perfumes would you take with you if you went on that famed deserted island (full of other Pefumistas willing to swap of course)?
After much waffling, debating and rooting around in my perfume closet, I came up with the following list, in no particular order of importance:
I’d be happy with those for quite some time, but there are many I’d sorely miss (my contemporary Guerlains, my Amouages, my Chanels, Feminité du Bois and Ambre Sultan, some Kilians, Juliette Has A Gun Lady Vengeance, SoOud Ouris, a lot of MDCI’s, Mona di Orio’s, Parfumerie Générale’s and… the list could go on and on… so glad you all are on that deserted island too, willing to swap. 😉 )
Can’t wait to read your lists!
Funny Monday Question!
I can’t imagine living without:
Prada Amber Pour Homme
Prada Infusion d’Homme (although I might replace it with Infusion d’Iris Absolue when I drain the bottle)
VC&A Bois d’Iris
Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien
Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee
Guerlain Coriolan
Histoires de Parfums 1725
Parfum d’Empire (Iskander, Azemour, Eau de Gloire, Equistrius)
Can’t think of more right now…
No need to think of more, they’re 11 already. 😉
Good list, Lukasz!
I agree, these are my flagships. I have some of them already and some of them are yet to come in full bottle form.
It’s lovely to wait a bit for a true love. 😉
Yes, and now that I have like… 5 perfume planned to buy in future it really is a good time anticipating them. I’m going for Rose Anonyme (not planned) and then Iskander (as planned)
Chanel Bel Respiro
Mona di Orio Oud
Roja Dove Danger
Frederic Malle Cologne Bigarade
Keiko Mecheri Mulholland
Heeley Figuier
Guerlain Double Vanille
L’Artisan Parfumeur Dzing!
L’Artisan Parfumeur Coeur de Vetiver Sacre
Armani Privee La Femme Bleue
Wonderful choices, M! I see there is no Roja Dove Amber Oud though…
Was, of course, thinking about that one, but I visualized my Isle as a sunny, warm place with mild nights…
Good point! 🙂
Hi Olfactoria,
I’ve lurked here for ages and absolutely love your reviews! This question has finally forced me out of hiding as it’s one I have been thinking about lately.
Mine are:
Frederic Malle Carnal Flower
Frederic Malle Le Parfum de Therese
Frederic Malle Lys Mediterranee
Guerlain Mitsouko
Heeley Ophelia
Caron En Avion
Chanel no. 22
Molinard Habanita
Robert Piguet Fracas
Cacharel Anais Anais
Hello Madeleine,
I’m glad you came out of lurk-dom to share your list! 🙂
It’s a great one!
Since I see Habanita there, did you try the new EdP already? Do you like it?
Hi Olfactoria,
No, I haven’t yet. Mine is the old version. But I will do so soon!
Cheers,
Madeleine
I have the old one too, but I hear the EdP is very good.
Hi Madeleine,
Thanks for delurking – I love your selection of Malles! I own none of them in FB, mainly because of their prohibitive costliness, but they are all *gorgeous*. Still scheming to acquire LPdT and LM 🙂
My list of cant-live-without is short; Guerlain Terracotta, Guerlain Attrape-Coeur, Chanel Cormandel, AG Songes, Chanel Cristalle edt. If funds were no issue I’d add By Kilian Rose Oud and PG Indochine
I love these hypothetical lists (and hope never to have to actually stick to any of them 😉 ).
Climat by Lancôme
Ubar by Amouage
Ta’if by Ormonde Jayne
Chanel No 19 EdT
Heure Exquise by Annick Goutal
Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle
Tiempe Passate by Antonia’s Flowers
Antonia by Puredistance
Vert pour Madame by DSH Perfumes
Sweet Milk by Jo Malone
I love those lists as well! 🙂
Yours is gorgoeus, Undina.
Oh,this is fun-but wouldn’t Top 20 have been a bit kinder?
Chanel 31 Rue Cambon
Mona di Orio Oud (thanks,Lady Jane Grey!)
Roja Dove Diaghilev
Amouage Lyric Woman
Amouage Gold Woman
Frederic Malle Iris Poudre
Puredistance Antonia
Chanel Bel Respiro
Teo Cabanel Oha
Mona di Orio Vanille
Yes, it probably would have been kinder, but then maybe somebody would have asked for 50. 😉
Your list is exremely elegant, love it!
Shalimar – Guerlain
Terre d’Hermes Parfum
L’Eau de Navigeur – L’Artisan
Ballet Russes – Olympic Orchids
Wild Ginger Chai – SOIVOHLE
12 Eau d’Epices – Tauer
Ginger Milk – Perfume and Skincare Co
Oud Ispahan – DIOR
Le Male – JPG
Blonde – Versace
I think these are the ones I can’t live without, ask me again tomorrow.
Portia xx
Those lists are bound to change, but it’s still fun compiling them, isn’t it? 🙂
Guerlain Gourmand Coquin
Guerlain Tonka Imperiale
Vero Kern Rubj
Amouage Opus VI
Kilian Amber Oud
Kilian Liaisons Dangereus
Kilian Love
MDCI La Belle Helene
MDCI Peche Cardinal
MDCI Rose de Siwa
I adore each and every one of those perfumes. We have very similar tastes indeed, Sandra.
This desert island better be a chilly one, my favourites definitely tend towards winter – In fact I may have to sneak in SL Fleurs d’Oranger just in case we have a hot day…
Amouage Epic Woman
SL Chergui
Neela Vermeire Mohur
Penhaligons Amaranthine
PG Cadjmere
SL Ambre Sultan
Andy Tauer L’Air du Desert Marocain
Ormonde Woman
Shalimar
Caron Parfum Sacre
You can have an island in the North Sea. 🙂
You’ll smell amazing there.
This one was difficult, but here goes 🙂
Mitsouko
Bandit
Amouage Epic
Tauer Zeta
Cuir de Lancome
Puredistance I
Guerlain Rose Nacree
Guerlain Encens Mythique d’Orient
Guerlain Lys Soleia
Voyage d’Hermes
A good many Guerlains in there, where would we be without this wonderful house?

MFK absolue pour le soir
Vero profumo Onda edp
PG aomassai
Puredistance M
Amouage interlude for man
Creed green irish tweed
tom ford PB tuscan leather
now this is fun…
Hi Tony,
it is fun! 😀
Great list, Puredistance M is my favorite on my husband, it’s just perfect.
Oh I am coming to sit next to you! Lovely list
Hmmm:
Penhaligon’s Amaranthine
Rochas Femme
Ginestet Botrytis
Chanel No 19
Diorella
Goutal’s Heure Exquise
Lauder’s Private Collection
Miss Dior ORIGINALE (or whatever it is friggin’ well called these days)
Chanel No 5
Chanle No 5 Eau Premiere
Vintage Dioressence (oops … is that eleven?)
Daughter nagging for computer so no time to think …
It is eleven indeed, but you’ve been working under pressure, so that’s forgiven. 😉
I like your classic tastes very much.
Hmm, always difficult to make this kind of a list. If I had ten slots, then I’d fill them as per below, but I think only the first 5 really qualify as ‘can’t-live-without’.
Cristalle edt
Coromandel
Songes (either formulation would do)
Terracotta Voile D’Ete
Attrape-Coeur
Sycomore
one of: Jasmine White Moss/Le Parfum de Therese/OJ Tiare
By Kilian Rose Oud
Indochine/Bois Blond
Fracas parfum
I feel bad for leaving out Cuir de Lancome, but haven’t been wearing it much recently. Also, I can see it’s represented on some other lists, so feel it’s getting sufficient attention 😉
Your five must haves contain two discontinued perfumes, that’s a bummer. 😦
I hope you’ll always find them.
I know, typical isn’t it…Though blogs like yours’ are great for hunting out new potential must-haves – there are so many of the newer scents, and even whole brands, that I’ve yet to test 🙂
Thankfully there are some great new scents coming out (albeit among a plethora of unoriginal ones).
Difficult, because I have not been in perfume long enough, but here goes:
Amouage Memoir
SL Un Bois Vanille (thank you Birgit!)
PdE Aziyade
Olympic Orchids Golden Cattleya
Yosh White Flowers
1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire
Rosine Rose Praline
SL Santal Blanc
Amouage Ubar
Amouage Jubilation XXV
Guerlain Gourmand Coquin
The last 3 aren’t “I’d die without”, and this is all making me realise how little I’ve been exploring recently.
White Flowers I only just finished the sample of, but suspect I would rebuy this over and over.
Memoir I don’t yet own, but this, as well as the first 7 are frags I’d rebuy.
I’m kind of sad that I haven’t got a larger variety (in scent genres), but I have about 40 samples of niche Italian perfumes on their way, so I shall probably be happy again soon 😀
That is an awesome list, Melissa!
I hope you have less stress after your move soon, so you can enjoy your new Italian samples.
Ah, I expect pure bliss after I’ve moved. There is something very special about Kenya, and I always feel so centred and peaceful there. 🙂
PS I’m craving white florals with a bit of green, and it seems I actually LIKE tuberose… Syrupy white florals will do too – any suggestions? xx
That sounds great!
As for the white florals: I’m mad about Carnal Flower, By Kilian Beyond Love, Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardénia, Montale Intense Tiaré and Nasomatto Nuda.
Didn’t love Nuda, enchanted by Narcotic Venus though. I have Carnal Flower sample, do like it but don’t love it. The By Kilian sample pack is on its way to me 😀
I shall look for the other two. Thank you! 🙂
Guerlain Cuir Beluga
Amouage Jubilation 25
Amouage Beloved
Guerlain Rose Nacree
Guerllain Mythique d’Orient
Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum
Lady Primrose Tryst
Guerlain Oriental Brulant
Guerlain Vol de Nuit (vintage)
Byredo La Tulipe
Also a very Guerlain-heavy list. Very nice choices, Mille Fleurs.
I should’ve added Cuir Beluga to my list, but I actually don’t own a bottle (yet) so it was left off. Nice choices all around. Can I be on your island too?
Of course! I’ll bring a bottle of Cuir Beluga! 🙂
I need to say first that I haven’t tested many of these niche fragrances that I heard of so many times, but I’m gonna focus on what I know and what’s important for me, the list is very mainstream, but for me these compositions are above and will stay above:
No 5
Coco
Cristalle
Samsara
Insolence
Addict Dior
Dioressence
Angel
L’Eau D’Issey
Classique JPG
Hi Dominic,
those are mostly timeless classics, so I completely understand your love for them.
These are the fragrances that I would not want to be without:
Serge Luten – Chergui
Hermes – Osmanthe Yunnan
Hilde Soliani – Il Tuo Tulipano
Hermes – Voyage
Rochas – Eau de Rochas
Estee Lauder – Private Collection
Chanel – No 5 Eau Premiere
Bvlgari – Black
Fendi – Theorema
Guerlain – Jicky vintage parfum
That seems like a great mix to be happy year-round!
This is where I am today – first, of course, the Chanels
Chanel:
No.22
Bel Respiro
No 5
Beige
Bois des Iles
No 19 parfum
Bvlgari
Black (and maybe Pour Femme)
Parfumerie Generale:
Tonkamonde
L’artisan
Dzing!
Dior:
Dolce Vita
Check back again tomorrow – it’ll be an entirely different list!
Just an FYI – I’ve noticed that despite their huge portfolio, nobody has chosen a Bond 9 fragrance – including me.
A lovely Chanel list, very nice. I hope to meet you on that island. 🙂
Oh, how I miss Dolce Vita. Why, Dior, why would you dc such a classic? I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s lists!
Fun lists, and just choosing 10 makes me feel disloyal to all my other FBs. It’s a sickness 🙂 I tried to pick favorites from different genres:
Bigarade Concentree
Rubj
Homage Attar
L’Air de rien
Carnal Flower
Papyrus de Ciane
Musc Ravageur
Kyoto (CdG’s)
Espirit du Tigre
Cuir de Lancôme
But on this hypothetical island, all of you are welcome. We’ll have an amazingly fragrant society! Be well.
A few of your other choices I like, too and am inspired to try others on your list…
I did as you wished (the editing). 😉
Oh yes, they’d write a book about us: Lord of the Perfume or something like that. 😉
Love your list!
Here is my list–it is very difficult to pare down!
FM Lys Mediterannee
OJ Ta’if
OJ Frangipani
Vero Profumo Rubj
Vero Profumo Mito
SL Fleurs de Citronnier
SL Fleurs d’Oranger
Neela Vermiere Bombay Bling
Tauer Carillon Pour Un Ange
MdO Vanille
Excellent list, C!
I also tried to make my choice and I have to say it IS hard, because there are so many of those I like/love/adore/can’t live without 🙂 but… as you mentioned only 10 – here they are:
Guerlain – Shalimar
Chanel – Sycomore
Amouage – Lyric Woman
Amouage – Memoir Woman
Andy Tauer – L’Air du Desert Marocain
Mona di Orio – Les Nombres d’Or Vanille
Mona di Orio – Les Nombres d’Or Vetyver
Serge Lutens – Ambre Sultan
Montale – Red Aoud
Serge Lutens – Arabie
Oh, there are many I love as well in that list!
Miller Harris L’Air de Rien
Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie
Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau
L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons
Guerlain Shalimar
Guerlain Mitsouko
Guerlain Apres L’Ondee
Coty L’Aimant
Coty Chypre
YSL Opium
Such pretty choices, Carol!
Ambre Sultan–Serge Lutens
Coromandel–Chanel
Nuit de Tubereuse–L’Artisan Parfumeur
Cruel Gardenia–Guerlain
Infusion d’Iris edp–Prada
Memoir Woman–Amouage
Seville a l’Aube (yes, it just came out but I’ve already emptied a 10 ml decant)
Grand Neroli–Atelier Cologne
No. 5 Eau Premiere–Chanel
Haight & Ashbury–A Wing and a Prayer
These are the things I wear most often. If I were banished to a deserted island, I’d swap something out for Chanel No. 19. Gotta have something cool and green.
Hmm, I like yours too.
I really fell in love with the unlikeliest (for me) perfumes lately, I really love wearing Cruel Gardenia, despite dismissing it for a long time.
Amouage Opus I
Amouage Jubilation 25
Annick Goutal Heure Exquise
Caron Tabac Blond extrait
Chanel No. 22
Frederic Malle Carnal Flower
Frederic Malle Le Parfume de Therese
Montale Boise Vanille
Parfums MDCI Chypre Palatin
Puredistance Antonia
A couple of these I don’t actually own yet in full-bottle, but if I were going to that island today I’d be purchasing them pronto. A week from now, a few might change. So glad that everyone has such great lists so that I can swap some decants very happily on this island of yours, Birgit! 🙂
Your list is as awesome as expected, and you are so right, Suz, there is not a list here today that I don’t want at least half of.
Oh my, that’s an even harder question than last week! Kept me busy most of the day 😉 First I tried to rationalize this, but then I decided the best way to do this is choose with your heart. So here it is, in no particular order:
Bois des Iles, Chanel
Vetiver Dance, Andy Tauer
Shalimar, Guerlain
Tubereuse, Mona di Orio
Amber Oud, Kilian
Ambre Sultan, Serge Lutens
Borneo, Serge Lutens
Tolu, Ormonde Jayne
Lyric, Amouage
Hiris, Hermes
I agree, with perfume it’s surely best to go with your heart’s desires.
Yours are beautiful, Claudia.
My current list of the ten I couldn’t live with, are
Carnal Flower – Frederic Malle
Bigarade Concentree – Frederic Malle
Orange Sanguine – Atelier Cologne
Iris Ganache – Guerlain
Io – Hilde Soliani
Rivage des Syrtes – Parfums MDCI
Oeillet – Scent Systems
Traversee du Bosphore – L’Artisan
Tubereuse – Mona di Orio
Cafe Noir – DSH
Looks like, a few amber scents are missing here, but that would be the list from an end of summer point of view.
Cheers
Safran
Many lists will certainly change with the change of seasons.
My Top 10 (no particular order)
Chanel #19
Amouage Dia
FM L’Eau d’Hiver
FM Pink Poudre
Chanel Beige
Cuir de Lancome
L’Artisan L’Ete en Douce
Mimosa Pour Moi over Dzing (I always wear this combo, so it counts as one)
JHaG Citizen Queen
Amber Prexieux
Cuir de Lancome gets a lot of love, hopefully Lancome brings it back eventually.
Hi there
my top ten would be:
1) Original Fendi always has been my first love (I have 7 backup bottles plus one extrait)
2) Sikkim By Lancome (beautiful leather)
3) Magie Noire by Lancome (I have 3 vintage backup bottles)
4) Bandit by Piguet
5) Vintage Shiseido Feminite du Bois (I have an extrait backup)
6) Vintage Shiseido Murasaki (ethereal iris over an incense/leather base)
7) Niki de st Phalle
8) Chanel No 5 (sentimental value as it was my first gift from a boy)
9) Chanel No 19 (the juice MUST be vintage or forget it)
10) Hermes Amazone (again, the juice must be vintage or forget it) my alternate would be Hermes Eau des Merveilles in edt or extrait formulation.
I’m glad you seem to have a good-sized stash of backups. I bet it gives you some peace of mind (it would for me.)
Shiseido FdB extrait is soooooo good.
Oh man, coming up with 10 is tough!
Hmmm . . .
Bulgari Black
Chanel Coromandel
SL Chergui
L’Artisan Parfumeur Safran Troublant
FM Une Fleur de Cassie, Carnal Flower, and Musc Ravageur
Mona di Orio Oud (got my sweaty paws on that mini!!! and there is a travel set just out that I can afford!)
Parfums Del Rae Bois de Paradis
Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
The list is a little random ;-), like all lists are. But that’s what makes lists fun! Thanks for such a great Monday question!
Lists are a thing of the moment, but it’s nice to record how preferences change over time.
My list- not necessarily in any order:
Guerlain Vetiver (vintage)
Dior Eau Sauvage
By Kilian- A Taste Of Heaven
Guerlain Habit Rouge
Bvlgari Black
Chanel Pour Monsieur
Prada Amber pour homme
Editions de Parfums- Vetiver Extraordinaire
Shulton Old Spice
Rive Gauche pour homme
A few observations: with an eleventh pick I probably would include Tabac Original, or maybe Alt Innsbruck. Also, even though I love vetiver-based fragrances, I tried not to put two of them in there. But I couldn’t keep either of them off the list.
Very classy list, James!
Since you love vetiver so much, only two on this list shows restraint. 😉
Thanks for the compliment, Birgit 🙂 Another one that was hard to leave off was Caron Pour Un Homme- my second favourite lavender fragrance.
It’s hard to stick to ten… 🙂
Right. If you had said top twelve or fifteen that would have been a bit easier 😉
Oh, so many, so little time to wear each!! And please, original formulations!!!
Guerlain Jicky
Guerlain Mitsouko
Guerlain L’Heure Blu
Lancome Magie Noir
Balmain Vent Vert
Balmain Ivoire
Fendi
Faberge Princess Grace of Monaco
Hermes Dans Un Jardin de Nil
Hermes Eau De Merveilles
Jil Sander 3
Oops that’s 11 but I could go on and on and on! Fun question to answer while watching tennis!!
I dream of fragrances, I mean I can smell them in my sleep!!
Ciao bella!
How lovely, I bet you have sweet dreams! 😉
Impressive list, nina. And I agree, most of these really are ruined in the current formula.
Years ago, while visiting London, I picked up my first bottle of Egoisite at Harrod’s. I didn’t care if it was a man’s fragrance, I adored it! Another wonderful trip included Nice and I was in heaven touring perfume museums and Molinard. Habinita was my pick then, I wonder if it’s changed now? And, oh, the scent of lavender in the air. What an experience!!
That sounds wonderful!
I hear the Habanita reformulation is very well done.
Ha! The mother of all Monday Questions! I love it.
I love your list too B, so wide-ranging. You’ve thought it through so that you’ve got all bases covered for every whim on that desert island.
I’m glad it’s been a long day and my brain is frazzled so I’m not able to agonise too much over my rash choices 🙂
Vol de Nuit
Diorella
Shalimar
Portrait of a Lady
Bois des Iles
Cuir de Russie
Cuir de Lancome
Osmanthus Yunnan
Equistrius
Bois d’Argent
Oh the pain – no Fleur d’Oranger, no Kyoto or 31RC – but great fun and so many great lists to read here.
Haha, thanks, it is the mother of all MQ’s I guess. 😀
Your list is wonderful, as expected, but it is a pain to leave those three behind, I’ll let you take 13. 😉
MMM I don’t know, my wardrobe is quite contemporary… let’s see… in no particular order:
Carnal Flower
Black Aoud
Tubereuse Criminelle
Blue Amber
Tobacco Vanilla
Tom of Finland
Nº 19 EDP
Absolue pour Le Soir
L’Ombre dans L’Eau
Coromandel
Honorable mentions to: sweet oriental dream, arabie, patchouli noir (il profumo), Lonestar Memories, Fleur de Male, Le 3º Homme…
Contemporary is a good thing, at least you don’t have to worry about discontinuation or reformulation (yet). 🙂
I have learned so much from reading this blog and the comments. Most of my choices are classic ones, but I am starting to slowly acquire some of the scents that are new to me. Here is my list:
Jicky
Vol de Nuit
Shalimar
Caleche
1000 by Patou
Fracas
L’Interdit
Dune
Sensuous
Chanel #5
Beautiful choices, Anita. I really enjoy reading everyone’s lists too!
Wow! You’re so sweet today! Last time you had us narrow it down to just one;). (I mean, you tried, we’re kind of hard to reel in:).
1) Attrape Couer (of course)
2) La Belle Helene
3) Peche Cardinal
4) J’adore L’eau Cologne Florale (OMG! I just went to check how to spell the name properly, and I think it may be discontinued. There is a l’eau, but not Cologne Florale. This stuff is like aromatherapy to me. My head and neck just started hurting.
Deep breath and perspective, life goes on:
5) Chamade EDP
6) J’adore L’or (this pains me, as I don’t really feel like speaking to Dior right now)
7) Lyric for women
8) Cardinal Flower
9) MDO Tubereause
10) Zeta
Crisis aside, I am so lucky to have so many beautiful scents in my life, and so many truly beautiful people who appreciate the same things I do!:)
Oh that is an amazing list, I’ll take most of those too please. 😉
Dior is really the worst house when it comes to upkeeping their legacy, I like the Collection Privée, but what they are doing to their classics is a real shame.
A short list. Some are old favorites and some are new, but all ones I love.
Calyx by Prescriptives – perfect summer feel
Sung (but is must be vintage). What one of daughters thinks Mom smells like.
Copper Skies by Kerosene
Opus VI by Amouge
I haven’t tried any of these, they must be amazing if you can list them off so confidently. And, I can’t help but notice that you have six open slots left that you’re not using…. Would you mind if I took two, since they are just sitting there, not doing anything? Just for A Taste of Heaven and Sweet Redemption? Would you like anything in return? Of course, if you were saving them for further reflection, or planning to give them to other people, I totally understand, and thank you for just considering it.:)
I just love how people take seriously these preparations 🙂 I was thinking of cooperating with some of my friends NOT to bing duplicates and use those slots for better variety.
That’s why I adore perfume people, they know how to take these things seriously! 😉
🙂
Nancy, you are the first who is able to narrow it down to four, I admire you!
I have been a one bottle at a time person for so long, that to even have multiple bottles to pack into the desert island suitcase is impressive for me. There are just some scents that are integral to my perfume history. I am working on finding six more absolute favorites.
MY 10 (no particular order)-
Sycomore by Chanel
Egoiste by Chanel
Bois Des Iles by Chanel
Ambre Nuit by Dior
Bois D’argent by Dior
Dior Homme by Dior
Vetiver Tonka by Hermes
Ormonde Man by Ormonde Jayne
L’air Du Desert Marocain by Tauer
Fumerie Turque by Serge Lutens
I should print this list and give it to my husband. Perfect. 🙂
Thanks Birgit! 🙂
My choices would be:
Serge Lutens Loukhoum and Muscs Kublai Khan
Malles Carnal Flower
Caron’s Bellodgia
Angel
Poison
Fracas
Rosines Rose Flamenca
Jo Malones Rose Water and Vanilla Intense
L’Artisans Traversee du Bosphore
You’ll be well covered in the sillage department. 😉
I’m a bit late, but here are mine 🙂
Guerlain L’Heure Bleue
Guerlain Jicky
Andy Tauer L’Air du Desert Marocain
L’Artisan Tea for Two
L’Occitane Labdanum
Hermes Osmanthe Yunnan
Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee
Hermes Ambre Narguile
Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau
Diptyque Vetyver
A great, varied list, Catherine. Do you use the current L’Heure Bleue and in what concentration?
I’m glad my mom already replied so I know what I can just borrow from her on this desert island 🙂
Here is my list:
Amouage Interlude Man
Mona di Orio Oiro
Histories de Parfums 1740
Guerlain Shalimar
Annick Goutal Songes
Frederic Malle Carnal Flower
By Kilian Beyond Love
Amouage Honour Woman
Hermes Hermesessence Amber Narguile
Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess (nothing better for those lazy days at the beach on said island!)
Love eveyone’s responses and so good to know that people would share if for some reason we were actually all trapped together with our ten bottles each 🙂
Excellent list!
But now I’m really curious – who here is your Mom???
The mom would be me. There a plusses and minuses to supporting each others perfume habits.
You have always been a light packer 🙂
I can imagine! I still think it is wonderful and I wish I could share my passion with my mother, but there is not the slightest chance of that ever happening… 😦
I’m a bit late but I want to play too. 🙂
So, here it goes:
1. Guerlain: Shalimar
2. HdPres: Vamp a NY
3. SL: Ambre Sultan
4. EL: Bronze Goddess
5. Vent Vert in previous formulation
6. MdO Vetyver
7. SL: Bois de Vanille
8. L’Artisan: Eau d’Ambre
9. L’Artisan: Seville a l’Aube (I really like that perfume)
10. And I’ll finish with Carnal Flower – which I haven’t got around to buying a bottle, I still have a little left in my decant
Never too late to play! 🙂
Great list, Ines. I’m glad you included Carnal Flower too.
Champagne de Bois
Amouage Tribute Attar
Kyoto
Ambre Narguile
Spiritueuse Double Vanille
Jeux de Peau
10 Corso Como
Coromandel
Shalimar
By Kilian Pure Oud
I think that Mona di Orio’s Vanilla may replace Double Vanille on this list. We’ll see when the weather gets cold! Pure Oud is my big love of the moment… I wonder if it will stand the test of time?
Sounds good, Amy! MdO’s Vanille is less “cute” and cuddly than SDV, so I can justify both. 😉
ten? Just ten? You are evil, did you know that, my dear Birgit?
After racking my brains I would say my top 10 (which might change after I smell a few new beauties in the coming months) are:
L’Heure Bleue (Vintage, of course. I can’t consider the current juice)
Ubar
Cuir de Russie
Musc Ravageur
Ta’if
Lyric
Scandal (Roja Dove)
Magnolia Romana
Fantasia de Fleurs
No5 parfum
Oh yes, I’m totally evil and I enjoy it. 😉
Such beautiful choices, Caro! I’m especially happy you are getting on so well with Scandal.
Aimez-Moi (Caron)
Montaigne (Caron)
Bal a Versailles
Dune
Habanita
Femme (Rochas)
Shalimar
L’Heure Bleue
White Linen
Mariella Burani
Wonderful classics!
I’m really late entering these here, but here they are, in no order:
L’Artisan Parfumeur Dzing!
L’Artisan Parfumeur Dzongkha
By Kilian Back to Black
Serge Lutens Muscs Koublaï Khän
Idole de Lubin
Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte
Hermès Eau d’Hermès
Amouage Epic Man

Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant
Thanks for adding your top ten! Great choices.
Ormonde Woman
Black Cashmere
Pulp
28 La Pausa
Equistrius
Heure Exquise
Après l’Ondée
Coromandel
Ambre Fétiche
Cuir Ottoman
Hmmmmm. I hope to sit near you on that island. 😉

oh well, my problem with this list is the notion of all times…I have a list of now time and of all time (and of sentimental then time), somehow now time is more fun and I couldn’t help it to mix here. The last 2 belong in the all time category and therefore stand together. Makes perfect sense, right?
Absolutely! 🙂
Taking into account reformulations and variety, I think i could make do with the following:
MDCI- Invasion Barbare
Puredistance- M
Chanel- Sycomore
Amouage- Memoir Man
Tauer- L’air du desert Marocain
MFK- Absolue pour le soir
Knize- Ten
Frederic Malle- Musc Ravageur
HdP- 1740 Marquis de Sade
Serge Lutens- Muscs Koublai Khan
That is a great list, welcome to the Perfumista island! 😉
BTW, I love your avatar.
