Monday Question – What Perfume Are You Wearing Right Now?

The famous SOTD post!

We perfume people love to tell each other our scents of the day. This is an activity that gives us real pleasure, but ii is something many “outsiders” don’t understand. Why is it so satisfying to hear what other people are wearing? Well, that is a question for another day, today I just want to know this:

What perfume are you wearing at the moment?

Why did you choose this scent?

Will you wear it again tomorrow?

question-mark

My Answer:

I’m wearing April Aromatics Under den Linden right now. I chose it, because I needed a whiff of tender prettiness with a hint of melancholy. Something warm to feel comfortable in, but that’s not heavy at all.

I’m happy with my choice, but I probably won’t wear it tomorrow, because my mood will have changed by then, and the opportunities my perfume closet and my sample collection hold are endless… 🙂

Let’s hear your SOTD!

  1. Christopher says:

Muscs Koublaï Khan with some Habanita on my sweater.

  2. judith dm says:

I am wearing Guerlain Spirtueuse! Why? I was at Saks and went fragrance less knowing I would pass the Guerlain counter. It is still with me hours later. I don’t have FB but it is deserving! I will wear it tomorrow as I have a small decant! Not ready to give up this beautiful scent!!!!

  3. judith dm says:

Ooops, Spiritueuse Double Vanilla however everyone knows what it is! Needs no introduction!

  4. Jordan River says:

Linden leaves to you. A layer of Oud Wood enchanced by Fate Man. Tomorrow a completely different direction.

  5. Lynley says:

I’ve been wanting to try that ever since I read your review Birgit…
Today I’m wearing Hermes Jardin Après la Mousson, because as the first hot days of the season arrive, they arrive wholeheartedly. Today is 34°C, with possible storms, so Mousson seemed perfect. I spritzed myself like a madwoman before I left the house, and have a small decant in my uniform pocket for a lunchtime top-up. I mostly work alone , and it’s indoor and out, so I can pretty much wear whatever I choose to wear to work 🙂

  6. Lady Jane Grey says:

Hedonist by Viktoria Minya. I’m going to have an awfully stressy day (and a week and in fact, the whole November…), so I needed something uplifting and pretty.I might wear it tomorrow as well, I’ve been reaching for Hedonist quite often recently, used up both samples I had and now I have a FB.

  7. dgambas says:

Just as yesterday. Mohur seems so beautiful when it rains !

  8. Alice says:

ELd’O Eau de Protection (Rossy de Palma). I love Mondays, and wanted something fun to counter the grey damp morning. To my delight my partner walked into the room and said ‘oh what’s that lovely smell’…so a success all round. I have a serious, difficult meeting tomorrow so may reconsider (although perhaps just a spritz might help me make it through!)

  9. Undina says:

I wear Jul et Mad Amour de Palazzo. I chose it because I realizes I hadn’t worn it in a while as I was publishing the news about their new small bottles release – and immediately wanted to wear it again. Since I almost never wear the same perfume twice tomorrow I probably won’t wear Amour de Palazzo but I might go for another one from the line. Stilettos on Lex maybe?

  10. Berna25 says:

    SOTD: Eau Suave (Parfum d’Empire)

Eau Suave is one of many, many samples ;-). So, tomorrow it will be of course a new scent.

But Eau Suave is really a beauty. What a nice start in a week full of new scents.

  11. Ana says:

Mona do Orio Oud.Because each day should be something to cherish.Because my long term partner and I would soon be apart from one another for a few weeks. This scent reminds me that I have a lot to be grateful for.I was with him when I first smelled it, I’ll be with him hopefully for a lot more days to come

  12. Lady Gogo by Smell Bent. Why? Last of my sample pack left to try. Will I wear it tomorrow? No because I have 5 Slumberhouse beauts to try over next few days

  13. Trish says:

Today, Habanita. Because it’s 5 degrees here in Normandy, with the rain pouring down and I need a comfortable, warm fragrance. I hardly ever wear the same perfume two days running. Yesterday it was Chergui. Tomorrow who knows? Parfum Sacré, Ambre Sultan, Avignon? All suitable for the time of year, along with the sandalwoods and ouds. I may not wear a floral again before the spring.

  14. Sandra says:

Kilian Love today. Needed something soothing on this gray morning to help me with my headache.

  15. annemariec says:

Nicolai’s Vanille Tonka, which I enjoyed but found a bit complex. I have a serious crush at the moment on Estee Lauder’s Sensuous and will wear that tomorrow. For some reason I crave its smooth, undemanding simplicity. I was thinking about you the other day Birgit, and wondering if I am about to go through a lower-brow version of your experience with L’Ambre des Merveilles. At the moment I am surviving on minis of Sensuous because I suspect this will all pass. If not, well, who cares. It’s only perfume!

  16. Safran says:

My scent today is Mito by Vero Profumo. It brings the sun in on a grey and wet day, that’s why I am wearing it. Tomorrow it will be a different scent, because I rarely wear a scent for two or more days.
    Cheers
    Safran

  17. Bee says:

Une folie de rose: I like its slightly old-fashioned touch, it’s one scent I prefer in the cooler / colder months. Tomorrow: who knows? Probably something with less presence, I’m attending a conference.

  18. Figuier says:

Today I’m wearing Indochine – it’s a sunny, bright morning but properly chilly, so Indochine’s gleaming woods are perfect. Teaching tomorrow, so will no doubt go for something more subdued and generic. Or nothing at all 😦

  19. Alexandra says:

I am wearing Ormonde Woman this morning, I chose it because when I looked out of the window this morning the sun was shining and the leaves were falling. I also chose it because I have been wearing PdE Cuir Ottoman fairly consistency since the weather started getting a bit chillier, truthfully I am missing Cuir Ottoman already and it is a fairly good bet that I will wear it tomorrow instead.

  20. Onda Voile. Because I finally realise is is beyond all others. Because I am alone in the kitchen all day and can savour every moment. Tomorrow? Onda drydown! Haha. xxx

  21. hildegunn says:

Today I chose Dries van Noten par Frederic Malle (the long name bugs me) ,because I needed to start the week in a soft, comfy, yet elegant way. Your SOTD sounds interesting…have to check out…Happy new week! 🙂

  22. drillpiken says:

ps; tomorrow I think I will go with SL Arabie. Having a total hangup on this one at the moment.

  23. hajusuuri says:

Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille! This is the 2nd day in a row and makes cold days in the northeast U.S. warmer. I may wear it tomorrow again but may switch to SL Boxeuses.

  24. citypark says:

This morning I needed an unobtrusive scent and I am wearing Moment de Bonheur by Yves Rocher, a greenish rose. I will not wear it again tomorrow as I like changes, even though I have not much to choose from right now.

  25. Lyubov says:

Mon Jasmin Noir L’Eau Exquise Bvlgari on the decolette + Absintheo Opus Oils on the left wrist and Wild Child Opus Oils on the right wrist! The first is my choice over the last few days since I got it (very invigorating and relaxing, not intrusive in my working ambience nowadays, similar to Un Jardin Sur Le Nil), and the ones from Opus Oils are just for fun, layering and first testing. Wild Child is taking over from two small dabs! I’ll probably wear the inoffensive L’Eau Exquise tomorrow, as well (soothes my tension and keeps a friendly enviornment).

  26. Just woke up, so I’m still wearing last night’s Guerlain Shanghai on my pajamas. It’s such a warm, comforting scent…perfect for sleeping! Post-shower, I’ll be wearing something different depending on the weather and my mood…probably something sandalwoody.

  27. Tora says:

I have a tough day ahead so I am looking at the decants I brought on this trip. I cannot decide between my cool powdery Exultat, and my warm fuzzy Ambre 114, maybe Tabac Rouge, I don’t know. I think after my shower I will figure it out. Happy Monday!

  28. Darilyn says:

I have been experimenting with layering lately, and yesterday I layered Moroccan Rose body butter with Guerlain Gourmand Coquin! I was going for a “rose jam” effect…lovely!

  29. Luchessa says:

Greetings from almost Unter den Linden (that’s where i live) and today i’m wearing Victoria’s Secret Angel Gold, which is great for a day to night combination. I think i was in the mood for some bergamot, gardenia and musk today. Tomorrow i might be going with something else, since i like to mix up the scents every day.
    Happy Monday to you.

  30. Annina says:

I just woke up, and I have the ghost of L’Amber de Merv keeping me cozy. Post yoga, I’ll probably wear MKK or Bois des Iles. Maybe I’ll wear Sensuous or Champagne de Bois. It’s getting cold and dark and I need my warm and comfy perfumes in rotation!

  31. Unbelievably, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.

  32. Liz says:

I am wearing L’Air du Desert Marocain and I wore it because I have a big meeting this afternoon and I want to make an impression plus, I really enjoying smelling wafts of it all day plus, it’s really wintry here and it is so warming, lots of good reasons. Will I wear it tomorrow? Quite possibly… That or Tabac Blond.

  33. janeykate says:

Frederick Malle, En Passant, it smells exactly like my lilac tree at home!
    Jane x

  34. arline says:

Its a layering process, but not every scent is in the same place. I am wearing australian sandalwood oil, an amber that I blended, along with lavender absolute. Before I leave the house, I will spray Champagne du bois.

The oils and amber are constant, and the CdB has been regular for many months, however I am longing for Chanel Coromandel, so that is imminent.

  35. ringthing says:

Amouage Opus IV because it’s cheerful and elegant incense wafts about me like smoke. I doubt if I’ll wear it tomorrow; in fact, I’ll change scents later today or tonight, just because I can 🙂

  36. Edward Gomez says:

In honor of our first cool, crisp morning in deep South Texas, I’m wearing Avignon. I hate Mondays, and when I sniff this, I’m instantly transported to my days as an alter boy.

  37. Panna says:

No. 5 bath oil used all over in place of lotion and the EdT on my chest and arms. It’ll be the same combination tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that…..because it is my absolute favorite! I also love it when I get in the shower and the hot water intensifies the fragrance left over on my skin. Mmmm…

  38. fleurdelys says:

Van Cleef & Arpels’ Feerie – I got a tiny sampler of EDP and a hand cream in my gift bag at Sniffapalooza last weekend. I love violet, and this is a pretty one, although rather light for me.

  39. Mare says:

I am wearing Illuminum Tomato Leaf. It is a very cheerful fragrance, and I needed some cheering up today.

I rarely wear a scent two days in a row, so I will probably not wear it again tomorrow.

  40. Kathleen says:

I’m wearing Cabochard on my upper arms and backs of my knees, and vintage Miss Balmain (ca. 1967) on my wrists. Why? Because I wanted to try them out together and stretch my nose a bit. I’ll certainly switch to something else later — probably something more floral and civety — but I can’t predict exactly which one — there’s so many to choose from, and it’s always a spur of the moment decision.

  41. lucasai says:

    Today? Vintage Chanel Antaeus

  42. At night I’ve been wearing Narcisco Rodriguez’s Musc Oil. In the morning I add my new
favorite Le Labo’s Vanille 44. Those two fit nicely in the cool and brisk South Carolina weather. A little later in the season I’ll be using Mona’s Vanille.

  43. Wearing Eau d’Italie Magnolia Romana for work.
Will later switch to my beloved Kiki, which is as close to HG as posible.
I end up rotating between the same 4 or 5 fragrances.
    Cheers,

    Caro

  44. Amy Bella says:

Today I am wearing Orchidee Vanille because I needed to be embraced by sweet warmth. (Bad mood, but the juice is helping!)

Tomorrow I will wear Amouage Interlude Woman because I can’t stop smelling my BFFF (best fragrant friend forever) co-worker’s wrist! Why wasn’t I wild about it when I tested it months ago?Re-test!

  45. Vanessa says:

    None! Got sidetracked!

  46. Sabine says:

Wasn’t wearing anything in the morning because it was decision day at the Jovoy boutique. After a long sniffing session and some good coffee I went for PdE Cuir Ottoman, which I’m wearing right now. They told me PdE will raise the prices soon and also stop doing the 50ml bottles, so PdE lovers should probably stock up.

  47. Ben says:

Today I’m wear Hermés Bel Ami. Works nicely with this cool weather.

  48. Dubaiscents says:

Today was Armani Prive Nuances layered with Amouage Sandal Attar. I am so in love with this gorgeous sandalwood oil (so creamy and milky!) that I plan to wear it with all my sandalwood scents to test it out. Tomorrow maybe Santal Blush by Tom Ford.

  49. Valorie says:

Poison. I have gotten so many compliments on it that I have lost count.

  50. Tatiana says:

I’m wearing Clinique Aromatics Elixir right now. I was inspired by a friend’s post on Facebook. He had complimented three young women on their fragrance and each one was wearing Aromatics Elixir. Not sure if I’ll wear it tomorrow or if I’ll go back to wearing Chanel Coco or Coromandel or Hermes L’Ambre des Merveilles, which are three I’ve been rotating through now that the weather is finally getting slightly cooler here.

  51. Claudia Bloemendal says:

Wearing SL Santal Majuscule. Since the weather is wet, cold and generally miserable I needed something warm and gourmand to cheer me up. Uncle Serge to the rescue!

  52. Stephanie says:

I think this is my first comment here! Today I’m wearing Eau des Merveilles. Trying to decide between a bottle of this and L’Ambre des Merveilles. I think I like the original better, but it’s so soft on me that I have trouble smelling it sometimes, but L’Ambre lasts forever!

    • Olfactoria says:

      Hi Stephanie,
      glad you commented.
I slightly prefer Ambre des Merveilles to the original, since it lasts longer, but as you say, both are lovely. I wouldn’t want to miss either from my collection.

  53. ACR says:

I am wearing Samsara on this grey rainy day here in the Pacific Northwest. It makes me feel warm and cozy. My other scents for days like this are Sweet Redemption, Kiss Me Tender and L’Ambre des Merveilles.

  54. Parfumista says:

Always enjoy to choose my SOTD and to read about the choices of others. SOTD is MPG Ambre Doré the early morning was grey, foggy and chilly and AD:s dark, leathery amber warms very nice. Tomorrow, as almost always, another scent. Two serious meetings, where in the same time a pleasant atmosphere is important: Guerlain Rose Nacree du Desert will accomplish this.

  55. quarteringsea says:

SoOud Ouris Parfum Nektar. It was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and so in addition to smelling divine in its own right it’s wrapped up in feelings of warmth and love and affection. It’s cold here, and somehow in cold weather this feels like a heavy cashmere blanket – soft and smooth and warm and lovely.

  56. Tomate Farcie says:

for me Ambre des Merveilles, heaven. . .

  57. Eva S says:

No scent today, since I’ve been working, but I notice that I can actually smell yesterday’s Amouage Memoir Woman on the sofa cushion! Tomorrow maybe Amouage Epic, Arquiste Anima Dulcis or Gourmand Coquin- the weather is dark with a mixture of rain and snow.

  58. Connie says:

I tested SSS Winter Woods today. It wasn’t for me, I found it too balsamic/pine-y with not enough else.

  59. Hannah says:

It’s chilly here today, so I wore olfactory comfort food. L de Lolita Lempicka. Tomorrow it’ll be something different, since I have commitment issues. Maybe something herbal? We shall see…

  60. Elisa says:

Long hard day, but vintage Egoiste made it better.

  61. Annabel says:

Tilleul by Parfums d’Orsay…probably not fashionable but good for a warm Brisbane spring day to watch the Melbourne Cup on telly!

  62. Ines says:

Cuirelle by Ramon Monegal. And yesterday too. Probably tomorrow as well. I can’t seem to get enough of it…

  63. Suny says:

Ok its not Monday but I am wearing Ambre Narguile…just bought it and it makes me happy. 🙂

    • Olfactoria says:

Congratulations on your new bottle! I bought an Hermès today too – L’Ambre des Merveilles (on my third bottle now) because it was 20% off! 🙂

Ambre Narguilé is so yummy in winter!

  64. ELd’O Rien. It’s the second not-so-great day in row and when the weather is dark and rainy and work is heavy, I like to put on one of those fragrances that I wear for me and me alone. I did get a compliment on it the other day, which made surprised me so much that I blurted out, “You for real?!”
