It was a busy week, but a good one.
Today I just wanted to share three snapshots. I love the first because the grainy black and white looks like it is from the 1950s. The second one because I’m blessed to see that view when I look out the window, despite living in a big city.
And the third one, well, the third one because I’m a Perfumista and so are you and we love looking at bottles, don’t we? 🙂
Currently I’m wearing mostly these five perfumes: Chanel Bois des Iles EdT, Santa Maria Novella Vaniglia (still perfect, even better in cooler weather), Hermès Rose Ikebana and Santal Massoia (I can’t be without Hermès!) and the lovely Bottega Veneta EdP (which is gorgeous come fall and because it matches my bag 😉 ).
What is on your current tray? How was your week? What is your view from the window?
Have a very happy weekend!
Never met a tree I didn’t like but that is some tree. It must sound good too. Looks like you will be without Hermès soon if those bottles stay on the mirrored tray. Enamored by Bottega Veneta but waiting for the ‘for men’ to compare the scents.
Hopefully I don’t end up without my beloved Rose Ikebana for too long (let’s hope the husband is reading… 😉 )
Curious about the men’s BV too.
In my carry on for New York, 31 Rue Cambon, Equistrius, Sous le Vent, Ambre Nuit and Coty Chypre. Didn’t want to take too much as I’m hoping to do some perfume shopping while the DH is having his business meetings. Love the photo of you and your boys. What a beautiful family. That’s a great view you have out your window.
Have a great time in NY and lots od fun perfume shopping!
There’s nothing on my tray – because I do not have a tray but really want to get one. As to the perfumes I wear… I still follow the same pattern: a new perfume every day. Today I wore La Femme Bleue. It was just perfect.
Beautiful pictures (especially the first one!) Thank you for sharing.
La Femme Bleue is always perfect!
Happy tray hunting! 🙂
Iris Silver Mist. Vero’s. 31 RC.
Mountains and lake out of window. Spoiled, I know.
Bussi.
xxx
Spoiled indeed. So am I. 😉
I hope to see you once more before Christmas?!
Twice I hope!!
Good!!! 🙂
I need to bring you my übervanille kipferl to try. 😉
Oh yeah! 🙂
Having a break : taking long walks in South England – with absolutely no parfum … But the time of heavy ouds is approaching …
Good for you! The air must be wonderfully fragrant anyway.
Enjoy!
Gorgeous pics! I used to have a rowan tree outside my window at the old house, but I don’t have one where I am now. I can see the green of the allotments if I look to the left, mind.
I have never had a tray, and at the moment almost all my perfumes are in storage under the stairs. I do, however, have a black box on the chest of drawers I use as a dressing table, in which are samples for testing or retesting. And my bottle of La Perla is out! But mainly I am trying to make myself test things…
The poor perfume! All hidden under the stairs! I guess that is hidden beauty in its truest form. 😉
My week – hectic and overflowing with English lessons, but I’m looking forward to the bookfair my sister and I will be going to this weekend! 🙂
The view from my (workplace) window – lots of character-less buildings, traffic, grey skies – blah …
On my tray – I don’t have a tray, but I got some Zara perfumes on sale, as well as a Givenchy III EDT, circa 1970s.
Oh, great, I love Givenchy III! Congratulations!
I love it too – it has such an appealing, retro vibe! 🙂
God I wish I had a tray and more importantly room for a tray, but in the minuscule studio in which I live there’s no space for such flights of fancy. When there’s a will there’s a way though so who knows, maybe a perfume tray will show up in my life at some stage. But the perfume is more important and I have some delicious things on rotation now: Rubj EDP,Noix de Tubereuse,Absolue pour le soir, Geranium Bourbon.Today I’m wearing Tea for Two which I haven’t in a while and is lovely in this cooler weather
Beautiful perfumes, Ana! The time for a tray will come…
I now have tree and tray envy.
Ha! 🙂
I have enough trees that when I am out back I can’t see the neighbors. Until the leaves fall at least.
I have a tray as well which needs to be updated for the changing weather. Right now it holds a bunch of samples and bottles of Womanity, Hanae Mori, Cardinal, and a few others.
Lovely photos, thanks for sharing.
Ah, I will miss the leaves.
What will be on your colder weather tray, poodle?
Tea for Two, Avignon, Coco, Like This, Pomegranate Noir, and a few other incense and ambery scents. All my warm and cozy stuff.
Oh, yum. These sounds good!
What a lovely photo with the boys! Thank you for sharing it, Birgit. I love their expressions.
Although I live in a fairly urban neighborhood just outside Washington, DC, my back yard is full of tall trees and quite a bit of shrubbery. My studio windows look out to it so I see nothing but trees, the occasional bunny and many birds.
I haven’t got a tray, but now I want one! My regular rotations are DSH Pandora, Aftelier Secret Garden, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Neroli Body Oil, Keiko Mecheri Olibanum, EnVoyage Zelda, and Tom Ford Urban Musk.
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
A great weekend to you too!
Now that you mention Zelda, I really want to try it, it gets such good reviews.
Love your fall picks!
Oh my, you are so pretty! And cute boys too, of course! 😀 Seems like I’m going through a Parfumerie Generale phase, as Intrigant Patchouli, Brûlure de Rose and Bois Blond are on high rotation. In addition I recently bought a (used) bottle of Amouage XXV that I guess will get a lot of attention, and Ormonde Woman and Tolu are also getting some love. Next week I’m heading for London, and am planning to return home with something autumnal and wonderful. If you have any suggestions….Have a lovely weekend, Norway is showing it’ts most charming side these days with lovely, sunny weather and high temperatures. T-shirt in mid September is unusual, to say the least.
Have a lovely time in London!
The lovely people at Les Senteurs or Bloom will certainly help you fond Our perfect fall scent. Have fun sniffing!
As long as your week is good as well as busy that’s OK. Mine has been very similar.
Your pics are all gorgeous but the first one especially. I will be planting a cherry tree in my back garden soon so I look forward to seeing that. I love knowing what people have in their current rotation so thanks for sharing your tray and asking about others.
I am only just getting into my autumn scents so it’s mostly been Seville a l’aube with a base layer of Kyoto and Portrait of a Lady. I plan on adding Bois d’Argent and Equistrius. Have a good weekend, B.
Have a good weekend too, dear T!
The boys tried to plant a cherry tree too, they planted the stones/pits (not sure which word is the right one), but nothing came of it. 🙂
I always enjoy your beautiful photos. I’m surrounded by trees, huge maples that are just starting to turn color, and my neighbor has a small orchard that is literally just outside my windows. The apples are beautiful. I have always understood how pagan cultures worshipped trees. Anyway, I love fall and am enjoying Traversee du Bosphore, Memoirs of a Trespasser, Cuir de Lancome a light spritz of Obsession these days.
Lovely to live next to an apple orchard, must be a great smell too!
Love your fall perfumes!
Birgit, you are so lovely! A gorgeous smile with gorgeous little ones! I like the vintage feel of that pic too.
I just bought Bottega Venetta yesterday, I can wait for it to arrive in the mail! I have been testing it and I have decided that it’s a cousin to ELdO’s Vraie Blonde – but where VBlonde has sweetness and aldehydes, BV has the dry powdery plum/iris-ness. I now prefer BV, where VBlonde was one of my favorites!
My rotation tray currently holds 31 RC, MFK Lumiere Noire Pour Femme, Elixir de Merv, EL’s Sensuous, and good ‘ol No.5.
You are too kind, Annina, thank you!
BV is great, glad you like it too! 🙂
Love your smiling photo.
I have been enjoying BV this week also, and ordered a backup bottle today. It seems to be correct in any situation!
We are coming into spring here and am looking forward to changing the bottles on the tray, Seville a L’Aube is beckoning.
BV is a great all-rounder.
Hmm, you smell good in Seville a l’aube… 🙂
You’re such a beauty, Birgit, and you look so happy in that photo with your darling boys.
Yesterday I wore Hedonist during the day and Ambre Fetiche out to dinner. Got many compliments on Ambre Fetiche and forgot just how good it is! Amouage Epic Woman and my sample of Fille en Aiguilles have also been getting much wear this week.
Aww, thank you, dear Suz!
Ambre Fetiche, I should wear it again tomorrow, it is really great. Ah, there are so many… sigh.
Beautiful photo of you with your boys! My tray?? Looking a bit neglected but there are bottles of Chanel #5 (premiere), Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia (sadly almost gone) and Jo Malone French Lime Blossom (also almost gone). Looks like I need to start shopping soon. I do know that when I exhaust JM Vintage Gardenia it will be replaced with Estee Lauder’s Tuberose Gardenia, thanks to your recommendation.
Have a great weekend!!
Perfect! I love it when a recommendation works! 🙂
Beautiful family, beautiful trees, beautiful fragrances!
I don’t exactly have a tray… my favorite scents of the moment are in a lovely embroidered pouch that lives in my purse. Right now I have Amber Sultan, Mona di Orio Oud, Champagne de Bois, Orchidee Vanille and Majda Bekkali – Mon Nom Est Rouge and Fusion Pour Lui Sacree for him. The last one has been a late summer favorite. It is so sweet and sunshiny with a such a delicious caramel vanilla dry-down.
I love the names of the Majda Bekkali perfumes, so evocative.
The embroidered pouch sounds good, an appropriate vessel for fragrant treasures. 🙂
Hmmm, I think I need to get a tray, it looks gorgeous. All my bottles are in their boxes in my “perfume closet.” Right now Lumière Blanche, 28 La Pausa, Jour Ensolleilé and a bunch of Heeley samples are in rotation, it’s been a gorgeous, sunny September here thus far.
I’ve got a similar view out of my bedroom window, and felt very grateful for it as a large part of August was spent resting in bed post-surgery. Blue sky and a willow tree are a soothing sight when you need to take it easy.
Oh no, I hope the surgery went well and you are better now, Dionne.
A tray is a good investment, mine makes me happy every time I look at it (which is often 😉 ).
I love the happiness shining through your face! And I want your tree. 🙂
I’m happy to share my tree. 🙂
Gorgeous photos, Birgit! I agree, there’s nothing like a good tree outside the window…it makes everything you do inside feel more tranquil and natural.
On my imaginary tray (all my FBs fit in one box) I have: Sycomore, Terracotta, Traversee du Bosphore, Nuda and a handful of new samples: Atelier Cologne’s Vetiver, Do Son edt, and Le Labos’ Lys. All v pleasant in September’s damp cool air.
Thank you! 🙂
Your perfumes all are very pleasant indeed. You made me crave Sycomore right now…
Beautiful pictures, Birgit! I’ve been yearning to bring out my cool weather fragrances. But it is still very warm here, so I must wait a bit longer. I don’t have a picture to post at the moment, but the view from my window is of the trees over my neighbour’s gazebo. It’s a pretty view. 🙂
I bet it is a great view, James!
Birgit, came of transatlantic flight today from tropical into fall weather and was gifted with a sample of By Kilian Amber Oud! I think I love it and it will become my shield against the UK weather dampness that I find so hard to bear…
Welcome back then! 🙂
I can imagine Amber Oud is fantastic right now, I find it to be a very comforting scent!
My tray still displays Hermès fragrances only – change of season, change of fragrance. Instead of my favorite summer fragrance Eau de Pamplemousse Rose I am now on to Eau de Mandarine ambrée, which is a bit more intense.
And of course I also use Rose Ikebana, Vanille Galante and Ambre Narguilé (this again being more of a fall/wintery fragrance for me). And them I’m set 😉
HAPPY weekend to you, my dear 🙂
Hermès has something for every occasion, it is a good place to be (when it comes to perfume and otherwise 😉 ).
But did you know Louis Vuitton is coming out with a perfume (hopefully soon)? I imagine that might be an interesting one for you! 🙂
Ooooh, now you’ve got me hooked 😉 I
have heard rumours about a perfume. But I don’t know when. Most probably I will buy a bottle and put it on my tray. But if it “stinks” and gives me head-aches I won’t wear it! I’m passed that age… 😉
Haha, right you are! 🙂
My tray has been filled lately with Mitsouko, Shalimar Ode a la Vanille, Amouage Epic and Memoir and Mohur. Outside my window are some trees and shrubbery, unfortunately they block the wiew of the sea 🙂
Ah, too bad, a view of the sea must be wonderful. So is your tray! 🙂
When I look out of my window I see many trees ( I am so glad for that), then the city and the mountains. I don’t have a tray, I change every day.
Is that where your screen name comes from? Many trees and a city, not a bad view at all!
Yes, it is…
Is it you in the picture or Grace Kelly?
Awww, you charmer! (It totally works, I am charmed! 😉 )
Not my intention.
The similarity is obvious! Perhaps you should have been in the film, not Nicole Kidman.
Yeah, I could have used her salary! 😉
