I just heard that perfumer Sandrine Videault, creator of the wonderful Les Nez Manoumalia, has passed away yesterday.
She recently worked on a perfume called Magnolia Grandiflora for the floral artisan company Grandiflora in Sydney, Australia. Luckily a sample of this is on its way to me. I’m shocked and saddened that its creator had to go so soon.
My heart goes out to her family and friends.
The perfume world has lost a great member.
OH, too sad Birgit. Vale Sandrine
Portia xx
Thanks Portia, so sad indeed.
I add my condolences to her family and friends. Very sad.
She leaves a daughter and husband behind. It reminds me how important it is to savour every moment.
I am so shocked!I am terribly sorry for her life cut short so suddenly and especially sorry for her family
I understand she had been ill for some time, it is still a shock of course.
Thanks for your kind words, Ana.
i’m shocked and extremely saddened by the news! the other day i was late to post in your favorite tropical fragrances post but my choice was manoumalia, which to me is a perfect synthesis of true tropical elements. in fact, i am wearing it now, in the argentinian winter, and it transports me away from the dreariness. sandrine, from what i know, was an amazingly creative, aware and vibrant spirit…this is such a loss 😦 R.I.P. sandrine, and my most sincere condolences to her family.
Yes, I remember we talked about Manoumalia the other day.
Thank you for your kind words, Melina, it’s such a tragedy when somebody had to leave so young.
Our most sincere condolences to her family also.
That’s kind of you, Walter.
Oh gosh … no words to say how sad. I just read of her various olfactory art installations; she obviously lived her life very fully. My condolences to her family and loved ones.
Such news shakes us to the core, life is so fragile…
Very true-Keeping her family and friends in my prayers.
Thanks, Patricia!
This is such sad news, Birgit. My heartfelt condolences to her family and to her friends.
It is. Sad and a shock. Thank you very much for adding your condolences, Anita.
Speechless.
That is very sad. I just read she has a six year old daughter..:( My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.
Thank you for adding yours, Lavanya.
Sad news for the fragrance community as well as her loved ones.
Indeed.
My condolences as well to Sandrine Videault’s family and loved ones. This is very sad news to lose someone so talented at such a young age.
It’s a tragedy!
This is indeed sad news for us all. My thoughts and prayers go with her and her family.
Thank you, Lanier!
Aw, that’s sad!
It is.
This is very sad. Such a loss to us all. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Thank you, Azar. She will be terribly missed.
She was stunningly beautiful, talented, bright, witty & fun, … She was just 44 and she had a 6 years old Illona to share her passion and talent with… But she also was a smoker. If the shock of such an hideous death could help ONE single person quit smoking…
Maybe…
Very sad about Sandrine Videault’s passing, but her beautiful perfumes will live on forever keeping her memory alive with each spritz from a flacon or dab from a perfume vial.
That’s true, Ferris!
