The bottle of the month for September was technically bought in August, but we won’t be sticklers for detail here, since I believe a 5ml decant of Carnal Flower is hopefully still interesting for many.
I bought my bottle at the lovely store of Profumeria Sacro Cuore in Bologna (see my account plus photos here) and now you have the chance to win a bit.
But since I also bought SoOud Ouris this month and can’t stop raving about it, I’ll throw in a 5ml decant of that as well.
To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment letting me know what your favorite flower is and/or your favorite perfume featuring it.
Tweeting or sharing this post on Facebook gets you an additional entry. The giveaway is open worldwide until October 4, Midnight GMT, and the winner will be announced on the blog on October 5.
Please be aware that I cannot be responsible for the doings of the post office and can’t replace lost packages.
Good luck everyone!
My favourite flower is Tuberose and my favourite perfume containing it would be Tubereuse Criminelle. But Boucheron is a very close second, though the perfumes are worlds apart scent-wise. Please do not enter me into the draw as I already have a sample of Carnal Flower.
Favourite flower is rose in life and lily in fragrance, so for Rose I pick Neela Vermeire’s Mohur currently and Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia is my current fave lily.
thanks for running this super generous draw Birfit,
Portia xx
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a lovely prize! My favorite flower is the lily, and I love almost any lily perfume, but so far Serge Lutens Un Lys is probably my favorite, with Frederic Malle Lys Mediterranee and DSH Perfumes 1,000 Lilies running a very close race for second. Very hard to choose just one! I also adore tuberose, and I would dearly love some Carnal Flower. 🙂
I adore flowers in general and it’s very hard for me to point at only one… But let it be the wordly recognised queen of flowers – rose… I am still looking for my perfect rose in fragrances that can be the one and only for me… there are so many sorts of them and so many beautiful perfumes… For now I choose Amouage – Lyric Woman – simply irresistible:)
OOOH, I would LOVE to win this giveaway! It’s totally yummy!I’ve had the pleasure of sniffing the two recently and they are both gorgeous.I love rose, lily, tuberose, mimosa, violet, there’s not a flower that I don’t like in the right context.I have Rossy de Palma which is a rose centred fragrance that I love, And the beautiful lily which is Donna Karan Gold.By the way did you get that small bottle of Gold?
They only had the EdT left, and I’d rather have the EdP, eventually… 🙂
you know i can send you few mls if you want. you only need to ask darling and you shall receive.i have the edp
You are too kind, Ana! Thank you! I’ve sent you an email. 🙂
Thank you for this generous giveaway! I mostly like when I can’t easily detect what flowers are in a fragrance 🙂 But still gardenia is my favorite. My two favorite gardenia perfumes are Kai and Neil Morris’ Intimate Gardenia. I like the way the sultry jasmine is slowly turning into a lovely fresh gardenia scent in the latter one.
I don’t think of myself as a floral wearing person, but I realize that all of the florals that I like have violet in them. So I have to deduce that my favorite flower is the violet. I’ve never sampled Carnal Flower, so I’m very much looking forward to it. Thanks for such a great giveaway!
My favourite flower in life is a lily (especially big gaudy hot pink stargazer lilies), but I do find it a bit tricky to wear as a fragrance. Lys Soleia is very nice and I tried L.I.L.Y. yesterday and enjoyed that too, but I do feel more like I’m walking around with a big old lily in my buttonhole rather than wearing a perfume for actual human skin! I guess for now I’ll say L.I.L.Y. since I liked it enough to want to keep trying :o) Wonderfully generous giveaway, would love to have a wee sniff of Carnal Flower after reading so much about it everywhere.
My favorite flower is jasmine. And I find Serge Luten’s rendering of it perfect in A La Nuit. What a generous draw, thanks Birgit!
My favorite flower is lotus and that’s why I love Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil.Light crisp and refreshing !
My favorite flower is the rose. I enjoy Mona di Orio’s Rose Etoile de Hollande.
Thanks for the draw!
I am finding that I really like rose scents, which a year ago I never would have thought possible. I don’t know if I have yet found my “favorite” rose scent, but I really like Rose Oud by Kilian. Thanks so much for the wonderful draw!
My favourite flower is… violet and the perfume I extremely enjoy it in is a masterpiece created by Maurice Roucel for Guerlain “Insolence” EDP. Lush:-))
Jasmine is one of my favourite flowers, and it’s a strong memory trigger for me, Cacao by Mandy Aftel is a true to life jasmine, with a hint of cacao and an awesome blood orange.
I’ve tried Carnal Flower just one time and I know that it needs more and more tries to grow in me.
Thank you for the draw!
My favourite flower is jasmine, and I love Parfumerie Generale – Drama Nuui. I’m a big fan of tuberose and orange blossom as well.
Thank you for the generous giveaway!
Jasmine is my favorite flower. I discovered that fact when I tried Serge Luten’s A La Nuit and couldn’t pry my wrist from my nose. Thanks for the exciting draw! Tweeted it 🙂
Oh, so generous! Thanks! I’m a fan of rose scents and I love SIP’s prima ballerina, but I just tried CF for the first time last week…swoon! Maybe I am a tuberose fan, too?
My favourite flower is rose and I love it in Amouage Lyric. In parfumery my favourite floral note is orrange blossom.
I am a big fan of MdO’s Hollande Rose right now. Waiting to buy a full bottle. And since reading your post, I have been looking for a sample of the Ouris to try. The peach sounded delicious.
My favorite flower is gardenia. I haven’t quite found the perfect fragrance with it yet but at the moment I’m liking Hothouse Flower. Carnations are tied for first place and the most carnationy scent I have is Red Carnation by CdG.
My favorite flowers are sweet peas and camellias, but I haven’t found fragrances that match these smells. I have a small decant of Caron’s Pois de Senteur that I wear, but I don’t find that it actually smells like sweet peas to me.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
Interesting doesn’t begin to cover it for me. I’d love to win these decants–what a generous drawing! My favorite floral keeps changing but currently it is Annick Goutal Heure Exquise with its notes of Iris and Bulgarian Rose. I would say that Iris is my current favorite, but that is always subject to change. I just got decants of Fracas and Bandit, so tuberose is pretty fascinating right now.
Rose is my favorite flower and Rose Oud by Kilian is my favorite perfume. I love the spicy rosiness!
I love Asian lilies especially. My favorite lily fragrance is FM Lys Mediterranee with its scents of ginger lilies and salty sea.
My favorite flower is rose, that fresh kind of rose, although I love a spicy rose as well. I wear Creed Fleur de te Rose Bulgarie for this kind of rose. Sorry if I misspelled, no coffee yet. Thank you for the fragrances you are giving away.
Like some others here my favorite “real life” flower is lily, and my fave lily fragrance is Donna Karan Gold. (In perfume my favorite flowers are rose and tuberose.) Congrats on your Carnal Flower purchase!
Can I cheat and say my favorite “flower” is iris? I know it’s actually the root instead of the scent, but boy do I love iris. Favorite is probably 28 la Pausa. So many flowers go sour on me in their lighter iterations it’s always a lovely surprise when they don’t. You know, now that I think about it, the only exception to this rule is the orchid line from Olympic Orchids – every single one smelled beautiful on my skin. So my non-cheating answer is orchid.
I know your last package to me never arrived, but I’m still willing to have another go at it.
I’m strangely attracted to dark roses lately, just came back from Monaco, they had Rose 31 as their toiletries – yum!
My favorite flower changes quite a bit. At the moment it is lilac thanks to En Passant. 😉
ahhh, I’m like Mom with several children. Favourite? I really do love them all, really. Well, I have to admit that I struggle with Iris, especially if it’s particularly earthy. Who knows, I keep reading about other peoples struggles with a note and then suddenly ‘getting’ and then loving a note so I keep trying. Kind of like your own adventures with Tuberose Birgit. I love Rose and Peony and Sweet Peas and Lily of the Valley and Hyacinth and Lilacs and Tuberose and Gardenia… but I think today, since you’re asking today I’d say Lily. I think Un Lys is still my number 1 Lily, but I think Lys Soleia is quickly becoming number 2. Interesting how both are Lily and vanilla and yet one is so cool and the other so sunny but I love them both so much.
Funny thing about Carnal flower is that even though I actually enjoy Fracas and have been savouring a sample of Mona di Orio’s Tuberose my sample of Carnal Flower was not love at first wearing. I actually put it in to my ‘no no, never’ pile for a while. But you know how a fascinating fragrance can hover in your consciousness and demand that you try and try again. I found that, just as I am nearing the bottom of my sample vial, I’m finding some strong feelings of affection have developed for the now fast disappearing remnants.
Now I have to go read about Ouris because I seem to have missed that one.
Thank you so much for sharing your good fortune with us Birgit.
I can`t belive why I haven`t get my hands on Carnal Flower yet, because I love big flower perfumes. I wear ELTuberose Gardenia and Fracas most of the times. Lately I started looking again for a new white flower bouquet, so maybe with a little luck I will got the chance now to come close to this beauty. Thank you so much for this great giveway!
What a wonderful giveaway! I love them both. I wish I could narrow it down to one flower that I liked the most. Favorites are always a little difficult for me in general (movies, music, food). Jasmine would certainly be up there, and a jasmine scent that I love is not necessarily a perfume. It’s Rodin’s Olio Lusso face oil — which smells divine and I love pressing it into my skin every morning.
I think my favourite flowers are narcissi, simply because they embody the promise of Spring for me. I first sought out “Climat” by Lancome because it was mentioned in a magazine as a perfume with narcissus in it. (I loved the scent and bought it but I couldn’t determine whether the magazine was right or not!)
Climat is my all time favorite perfume and I can’t smell narcissus in there.
Iris, iris and once again iris! (Then there’s some lavender and few more)
My long time iris favourite is Prada Infusion d’Homme but I recently fallen for Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue and L’Artisan Iris Pallida (discontinued!) of which I got 10ml decant.
osamnthus would be mine and the composition is oamnthe yunnan
OSMANTHE YUNNAN – i missed the S
Wow what a great giveaway! I hope so much I’ll win this ❤ My favourite flower in perfumes is now tuberose and favourite tuberose perfume is Divine by Divine. Btw, have you tried that one? It's a queen, not a shy one! =D
Thanks for the draw! ❤
Jasmine, Jasmin Noir by Bulgari
My favorite flower is the Venus Fly Trap and I don’t think it is featured in any perfum so I have to go with the Geranium. Red ones remind me of the Plaza Athenee in Paris and I have them on my fire escape next to my bay window. A little bit of Paris right at my elbow (I am writing from that sunny bay window right now.) my favorite perfume it is featured in is Egoiste by Chanel. Hey do I detect an underlying Parisian theme here?
I love Tuberose -> Carnal Flower and Geranium -> Geranium Bourbon.
I love Orange Blossom (Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger), tuberose (Carnal Flower, Tubereuse Criminelle), Jasmin (Olene, Full Jasmine, Alien…)
Sweet olive, AKA osmanthus! I have yet to find a perfume that adequately portrays my impression of its scent (warm and pervasive). Jean Claude Ellena’s Osmanthe Yunnan and Osmanthus are close, but they’re too muted for my taste. I’d love to hear more suggestions, however!
My favorite flower IRL is probably hyacinth, but other strong contenders are lily-of-the-valley and rose. In perfume, jasmine is my favorite. I love Crabtree & Evelyn’s jasmine de provence. Not sure if it is still available, but it is surprisingly lovely.
My favorite flower is rose. I love them in all colors and varieties. Rose is also my favorite flower in fragrances. My favorite rose fragrances is probably Teo Cabenel Oha. It isn’t a very complex fragrance, but it moves me to tears. It has very quickly become an all time favorite. Thank you for this giveway. I always enjoy them 🙂
A really well done rose fragrance is one of my favorites. I have and wear Stella and also a version by Yves Rocher. Lovely giveaway, thank you for doing another fabulous giveaway! Have a great weekend.
At the moment, I have two favorite floral scents – orange blossom/neroli and gardenia. My newest favorite orange blossom is Sweet Redemption By Kilian. I love the incense scent left on my skin after the drydown. I could smell that forever. My favorite gardenia is Gardenia Pasion by AG – an oldie but still one of my favorites. Oh, and what a wonderful giveaway! Please enter me in the drawing….I’ve wanted to try Carnal Flower forever!
Hi Olfactoria, I hope all is well you and your family.
I love all flowers, but I have an especial closeness for and to the humble marigold. I don’t know if there is a scent that features it. All I do know is that when I deadhead them and open them up to scatter their seeds, the fragrance is like liquid light to me. It’s evocative of something I have no words for, just touching something inside me, like a burst in my heart, very-in-the-moment.
Thank you for your contest and your hard work.
Oh dear, my favourite flower is nasturtium, but I’ve never known a perfume that has it as a note! (Salads – yes.) However, it is spring here and I have been buying hyacinths and comparing their dark, almost bitter scent to two of my favourite perfumes: Chamade and Private Collection. Lovely!
Favourite flower in real life is rose, in all its beautiful colour and scent manifestations, but I have rarely worn a rose-dominant scent. Neela Vermeire’s Mohur is going to change that. The flower that I have loved since childhood and have worn in perfume is lily-of-the-valley from Coty and Yardley to start and now in Diorissimo and Gucci Envy.
Newest floral scent love is tuberose due to my sampling of Ayala Moriel’s gorgeous, not-yet-released Treazon.
Iris is my favorite flower and I love SL Iris Silver Mist. Thanks for the generous draw.
My favorite flowers are tulips and hydrangea, but I’ve never come across either in a fragrance.
My favorite flower is the rose & my favorite perfume featuring it would have to be Mor “Marshmallow.” 🙂

In nature my favorite flower is gardenia and my favorite gardenia perfume is Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia
My favourite flower is lily, but among my perfumes many contain orange blossom, Both rose and tuberose scents seem easiest to wear if they contain something to balance the sweetness,
In nature, my favorite flower is Mock Orange, but I’m not a big fan of orange scents. In perfumes, my favorite flower is Iris and my favorite Iris perfumes are Parfumerie Generale Private Collection Cuir d’Iris, Dior Homme, Chanel Cuir de Russie and Odori Iris. Oddly, I can’t stand the smell of real Iris.
Congratulations on your new finds, I hope they bring you much joy.
In nature, my favorite flower is the gardenia (oh, and the peony), but in perfume, my favorite is tuberose. I do love Tom Ford’s Velvet Gardenia.
Wonderful draw!
My favorite flower is rose, but in perfume it is tuberose. I’d love to try Carnal Flower finally! Thank you!!!
My favorite flower is the arctic poppy, so vivid, or the lilac, so fragrant, or the tulip, so elegant.
My favorite flower is carnation- still looking for a fragrance that speaks carnation to me
thanks for the draw
I hear about Carnal Flower all the time and never tried it. Thanks for the opportunity.
My fav flower? It is changing all the time… in perfumery it is iris and in the nature is violet. 🙂
Do not enter me into the draw (I hate Carnal Flower … and own 10 ml travel spray of it 😉 ).
My favorite flower is iris but I prefer perfumes that use its root since I do not find the smell of the flower itself too interesting.
Tweeted and shared on FB: I’m curious to see how many people want Carnal Flower.
Lily of the valley – Carillon pour un Ange Andy Tauer. This one is so uplifting.
In real life, my favorite flower is probably iris, especially those lovely black-purple ones. In perfume, my favorite floral is orange blossom, or perhaps “white flowers” more generally- I love both Lutens’ Fleurs d’Oranger and SSS’s Jour Ensoleille.
Thank you for having such a generous draw!
What a generous draw! Luckily, tho, I have my own little 2ml decant of Carnal Flower, which is lasting well, so no need to enter me.
My favourite scented flower is either hyacinth or narcissus – there just aren’t that many perfumes that conjure the real thing. Cristalle edt has a pretty hyacinth note, tho it’s hard to detect, and Annette Neuffner’s Narcissus Poeticus is the closest to the actual narcissus flower that I’ve come across so far. Lily comes close third – Lys Med is a beautifully naturalistic version.
As a note in perfume jasmine is probably my favourite, but I’m not familiar with the flower itself.
I want to play, I want to play! 🙂
Although you can probably guess what my favourite flower is – tuberose. 😀
Of all the tuberoses I have, I believe my favourite is Vamp a NY because I find it so very easily wearable (for me at least).
Thank you for the generous giveaway!
My favorite flower keeps changing. I used to be a jasmine girl, then gardenia, then osmanthus, and now suddenly rose! I fallen in love with Atelier Rose Anonyme and now I wonder why rose took a back seat for so long.
My favorite flower is gardenia – inextricably linked to happy memories from childhood. Living in Florida, I have contact with a wide variety of flowers. Oddly enough, my perfumes seem to be mostly in the woody/oriental/incense range. I don’t think that any of them would be considered florals. Thanks for the draw.
I haven’t yet made my mind up over carnal flower so I would love a chance to spend some time with it – thank you for this!
My favorite flower would be osmanthus and still looking for a perfect osmanthus even though Hermes Osmanthe Yunnan comes pretty close =)
I’d sa gardenia, fresia and jasmine – I couldn’t decide
I have a small sample of Carnal Flower which I treasure dearly and only wear on very special occasions; occasions when I need to feel strong and sexy, when I don’t want anything or anyone to unsettle me. I know I will have to buy a full bottle very soon, but in the meantime I would so love to be entered into your very generous draw. My favourite flower is otherwise undoubtedly the lilac, but so far I have not found a perfume that does it justice (fingers are firmly crossed for the safe arrival of Opardu…). I also love Lily of the Valley in early spring and Andy Tauer’s interpretation (Carillon Pour Un Ange) is very special. Rose is another favourite (Ormonde Jayne Ta’if is scrumptiously sensuous), and although saffron isn’t strictly a flower I love its scent: saffron buns at Christmas in Sweden and l’Artisan’s Safran Troublant… delicious.
Thank you Birgit for this opportunity 🙂
My favorite flower is the tulip. Not a perfume base, but it’s beauty needs no scent. Thank you for the draw.
Thank you to Diptyque for creating ‘Olene’, allowing me to smell like spring all year round. The punchy jasmine has allowed me to endure even the longest of winters.
Wow, fab draw! My favorite flower is lily of the valley. Favortite perfume with lily of the valley is Odalisque. I learn so much from all of the comments, I’ve got quite a list going!
My favourite flower – and I love so many – is frangipani. My favourite rendition of it as a perfume is Ormond Jayne’s. Would love to win these decants! But mostly I just like reading your blog 🙂
My favorite flower is tuberose though I have trouble with the note in many perfumes. My favorite rendition in perfume is Tubereuse Criminelle and of course Carnal Flower. However, in perfume, I really enjoy rose (with patchouli and woods, dark, deep and dirty) though it is not my favorite flower in real life..
Favorite flower is so difficult, I love every blooming thing 🙂 Rose, if I have to choose just one. Perfume that I love it in is NVC Mohur. Mohur is my comfort scent. Mona di Orio’s Rose Etoile de Hollande is also another that I love. Thanks Birgit for the opportunity of Carnal Flower this is one I haven’t tried yet. Retweeting..
I love rose, and my favourite perfume is Stella by Stella McCartney 🙂
I love deep red roses, but I do not know which rose fragrance is my favorite..still have to find it. I have never tried Carnel Flower and would love to win this. Please enter me and thank you for the lovely draw.
I love all flowers – every single one. To look closely on one flower….it’s life at its most beautiful moment.Hmm…tricksy to single out a special flower, but it would be the mysterious anemone. Iris and labdanum in fragrance, as in 31 Rue Cambon and La Pausa. I am unfortunate enough to have only small decants of these. Many thanks for the opportunity to enrich my modest fragrance collection!
My favorite flower (scent only) is tuberose and my favorite fragrance is Douglas Hannant by Piguet. However, scent aside, visually… my favorite flower is the peony. =)
hi, a great choice for the giveaway! I do not have a fav flower, but in parfumes i love iris – and my fav parfume is Jo Malone Iris and Musk. (Although i do not own it…. yet?).
And i alsso tweeted https://twitter.com/radmilamilamila/status/252852793587662849
Thanks, Radmila, rada76@Mail.ru
My favorite flower is jasmine, which grows very prolifically here in Northern California. I’ve been searching for a great jasmine perfume, but so far haven’t found one. As always, thanks for being so generous with your monthly bottles! We live vicariously through you.
I’m an Iris lover, but I find really hard to find a good unique iris, yet masculine. I found iris really clean and elegant, still young and sexy. I used to wear Dior Homme when I was 18 and I have to say that I still appreciate that even if I think I’ve moved a step forward. My new favorite iris is Nirmal by Laboratorio Olfattivo: delicate and lovely. An iris, violet composition with cedar wood, amber, daim accord and a top note of carrot. It feels really warm and cozy, a soft white clean blanket that covers your leg when you wake up in a warm day in spring, with the window open in front of a beautiful garden with the first violets and iris. Not light as ”clean perfumes” usually smell, but with a nice persistent clean sillage.
Great giveaway! I love Carnal Flower…. among all tuberose I think it is the one I like the most, and one of the most masculine together with Un Parfum d’Ailleurs & Fleurs, TheDifferentCompany, and Nuit deTubereuse, L’artisan Parfumeur. The most masculine Tuberose I’ve tried is Tubereuse 3 – Animale, Histoires de Parfums.
Shared on Facebook, Facebook blog’s page and Twitter!
My favorite fresh flower is hyacinth. My favorite flower for perfume is carnation–Bellodgia and tuberose–Fracas. Thanks for draw.
I love gardenia, and I believe it’s used in my favorite Michael Kors Michael. Hope I win, Brandi
Helichrysum, aka Immortelle, in Sables and Eau Noire.
Thanks for the draw!
Gosh my favorite flower? Probably rose. Tuberose may be my fave perfume flower, though. Fave tuby? Maybe MPG’s Tubereuse.

Yay for two new full bottles! I can’t even remember the last time I bought a full bottle, but I did get over a dozen decants in the mail last week 🙂
Hm, my favorite flowers are orange roses. I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite rose fragrance, but ELdO Rossy de Palma and SSS Velvet Rose are high up there!
My favourite flower is rose, and I especially love it in Tom Ford “Noir de Noir”.
My favourite is gardenia, in Floral Gucci, gorgeous gardenia! 😀
