“Style Never Goes Out Of Fashion” – Kilian Hennessy At Campomarzio In Rome

For your viewing pleasure, here is an interview with Kilian Hennessy of By Kilian. I admire his brand and the man himself – well, let’s say he is not hard on the eyes. But superficiality aside, I love what he does and how he does it, I like his brand’s aesthetic and his vision. And luxury has its price, or it wouldn’t be luxury, would it?

This weekend is all Kilian all the time for me, I took my sample set to the cottage and I feel like my every whim is covered and my every wish catered to. This is a line I would not want to miss.

In the mood for Kilian? Here are my reviews of the line so far (three more reviews are upcoming soon).

What do you think about By Kilian?

I loved the presentation Mr Hennessy gave six months ago in San Francisco, he was extremely charming. Also, I’m impressed by the way they treat their fans on FB.

What a charming man, what a shame he also has a new girlfriend, I could listen to that accent all day long, of course the fact that he owns a perfume company also has huge appeal.
I await my perfume samples with baited breath as I have wanted to try these perfumes for such a long time. What an incredible way to get new customers by doing a huge giveaway on FB, I am determined to like and buy at least one before I have even smelt the samples and I am sure that I am not the only one.
Other perfume companies take note, it helps if you give away your samples (or not charge ridiculous prices for them, LL £6/ exclusives sample, Really??) rather than being tight with them, this helps to produce sales and loyal customers which is surely what you are after???

Kilian is doing social media the right way, and giving away the sample sets was a stroke of genius! He obviously knows that the scents are so good, that it’s not actually a loss to give samples away, since, as Andrea says, it will certainly result in a boost in sales—and blog reviews, and twitter buzz, and generral awareness overall. Genius and beauty in one elegant package… Sigh.

    🙂

The line, overall, is one of the most impressive I’ve encountered to date. I’ve been a fan of B2B and Rose Oud for some time, but I had no idea the whole ON line was so good! Love & a Taste of Heaven are both on my short-list, but I’d be delighted if someone gave me a bottle of any of them!

  4. I have loved By Kilian for a few years now. Cruel Intentions and Back to Black are my absolute favorites from the line.

Not only is the man a huge sweetheart, but he also knows how to smartly run his business; he is great with social media! More companies should look to his example for ways to better their images and revenue.

Also, I think he’s just unbelievably attractive, swoon!

It is not easy picking favorites from the line, for now mine are A Taste of Heaven and Sweet Redemption, but that is subject to change. 😉

He really knows how to do business in a charming and intelligent way.

And yes, he is definitely swoon-worthy…

Thanks for this B, really interesting hearingabout the categories of stories. Didn’t know about the “drugs” lol! What a great, high quality brand with excellent marketing/PR and as for Kilian, what a down to earth, likeable guy. Just goes to show you can be the owner of niche perfume line AND be charming.

I think this weekend is going to be All Kilian All The Time for me too 🙂

I have only just caught up with these weekend posts, but quite fortuitously I was wearing my sample of Love & Tears (from Parfumerie Hyazinth) yesterday, so I was with you in spirit / scent!

Overall, By Kilian is a bit of a curate’s egg range for me – some of them bring on an instant headache (Liaisons Dangereuses, Beyond Love and one of the “Heaven” ones – I forget which), while a couple are amongst the most transporting perfumes I know (Love & Tears, Sweet Redemption). But those two are enough to make me very glad the line exists!
