Let’s go swimming this weekend! I really want to, but the weather does not what I want as usual.
On the perfume front, I am still reeling from the shock over the breakdown of my favorite perfume, Frapin 1697. I really hope it recovers. Today I am in a cologne frame of mind and I have many samples to choose from, but what ever I end up with will at least be heat-proof. 🙂
Let us take a look a the past week in Perfumeland:
Tarleisio bewitches us with another story on Scentless Sensibilities, a love story this time, and like the best love stories it is a tragic one, inspired by Amouage Memoir Man.
Persolaise puts his 20 Blotters in front of a wonderful person and perfumer – Vero Kern.
Carrie reviews a discontinued gem and gives away a full bottle on eyeliner on a cat. (the giveaway has ended, but that does not mean you shouldn’t read the review!)
Olenska and JoanElaine celebrate EstéeFest on their blogs parfümieren and Redolent of Spices. Be sure to take a look!
Dee from Beauty on the Outside asks herself whether she is a perfume snob. What about you?
Ines on All I Am – A Redhead takes a look at Jardin du Poète and finds it utterly refreshing. (Here is my take.)
Suzanne in her Perfume Journal, writes about a hard to find, elusive gem – Le Labo Gaiac 10.
And it is still time to participate in my draw for a complete sample set of Anya’s Garden natural perfumes. Ten vials of pure perfume are waiting for a lucky reader.
Have a wonderfully relaxing or exiting (whatever you prefer) Sunday!
Birgit, I tried my other sample of 1697 – there’s no problem with that one. You’ll see, everything will be o.k. Kopf hoch 🙂
Danke! 🙂
I will try again tonight and see what happens.
Birgit, I love that picture of the bathing beauty. I think I’m going to go to the pool today; our community pool underwent a major renovation over the last year, and though I thought it was wonderful before, it’s exceptionally nice now, with lots of new slides and things for the kids. I’ll swim a few strokes for you, since your weather isn’t cooperating.
I’ll also keep my fingers crossed for you with the 1697!
I love that picture too, and notice the different body shape that was considered beautiful then? A lot healthier, I’d say. Enjoy your day of swimming, I’d love to go with you, chatting about perfume and eating ice cream the whole afternoon. 🙂
Thank you for the link Dearest B! I have discovered something dangerous- I love giving away perfume about as much as I love buying it for myself!
Me too!!! It is such a good feeling to give something you know the recipient really wants and loves and will cherish. Gift giving os often so hard, but amomg us Perfumistas it is the easiest thing in the world! 🙂
Birgit you should contact Frapin and Cie there are bad batches . I mean our Goat’s milk is often weird in the summer but then the goat’s diet changes ! I doubt they change a perfume’s diet but maybe other people have complained and they will refund you or explain what might have happened.
You are right angie! I will do that and keep you updated. The comparison with the goat is great! 😀
Thanks for mentioning EsteeFest! I’m glad you stopped by to visit!
Of course! It was a brilliant idea!
