Summer has come this past week, and with a vengeance. It was very hot and sticky and sweaty and sunny. Can you tell I am not majorly into summer? I would love to have normal temperature for once, going from Trenchcoat to bathing suit in the course of a day, is not my ideal way of being.
But at least my summer scents get to go into heavy rotation now. 🙂
Suzanne’s Perfume Journal has a post about my beloved Frapin 1697, and Suz totally gets what I get. Read her beautiful post!
Ines of All I Am – A Redhead does a great job describing her latest Tauer experience – Zeta!
Carrie of Eyeliner On A Cat is on a roll these last few weeks, her review of three Liz Zorn perfumes have us Europeans foaming at the mouth, as she herself put it, since shipping is so expensive. But Carrie knows just what to do… 🙂
Victoria of EauMG reviews Grossmith’s newest offering – Betrothal. I like it, despite the fact that I know I probably won’t like it. Do you know what I mean?
Tarleisio of Scentless Sensibilities is at it again, brewing the Scent of the devil. Read Part four, things are taking shape.
Dee did a lovely thing for B.A., a perfume merchant from Yemen, suffering under an international embargo. Read her interview with him on Beauty on the Outside.
Enjoy your Sunday, hot or not!
Victoria’s review of Betrothal just left me drooling. I am sure I would love it.
As for the weather, here we have gone (almost) straight from Summer into Winter. I much prefer Autumn and Spring.
I wish the weather would be less extreme!
Betrothal sounds interesting, but the price is a lot less enticing, isn’t it?
I always justify myself by thinking a full bottle of expensive fragrance costs less than having an espresso a day.
Excellent way of putting it! I will remember that! 😀
You did a very good recap of the week.
I loved Dee’s interview, it is really easy losing track of what happens in the world and forgetting there are people out there whose everyday existence is threatened. I do hope everything turns out ok in the near future.
I just have to add, I’m not much into summer heat (although my boyfriend adores it), warm spring is my perfect weather, I just don’t function very well when the summer hits.
Btw, thank you for including me. 🙂
A very good recap of the week has to include you, of course, or it wouldn’t be very good, would it? 😉
Spring and fall are best for me too, extreme heat and cold are not easy for me to handle. This too shall pass… 🙂 BTW I like the Parfums d’Orsay L’Intrigante you sent very much! What do you think of it?
He, he, of course including me makes your recap better. 😉
Just kidding (but I do appreciate it). Those were some of the posts I enjoyed most last week.
Regarding L’Intrigant, I’m having issues with it. 🙂
It somehow blends with my skin and I can’t smell it when wearing it (luckily, it’s still there for others to smell). But I really enjoy the smell – it’s again one of those perfumes that I find are easy around other people and makes me not think twice about spraying it.
I see, it is a good thing I can smell it on myself, and I rather like it (my husband does not, but that is hardly surprising, it is not aquatic floral after all) 😉
I love that yellow bathing costume, I want it now!
You would certainly look great in it! 🙂
Probably because it’s so brief a season here, I love summer and its heat. But having said that, I’d prefer to live where it is hot and no humidity (I’ve been in Arizona when it was 110 degrees and loved it), and I am grateful to have an air-conditioned bedroom for sleeping when it’s so humid.
Hope that you’re enjoying a cool, or at least cooler, evening. Maybe you’ll be reviewing some summer scents this week??!
I loved Arizona heat too, but more on a theoretical level and for one week only! 😉 Summer scents are coming up…

Hooray! We’re in cahoots! Enabling is one thing, but actually helping out friends in need is completely another. We must look out for each other to avoid ridiculous shipping fees!
Exactly! 🙂
Thanks again, Carrie! I look forward to trying my samples!
