Last Week In Perfume Land – Weekend Link Love

We went to a wedding yesterday. It probably was one of the last we will go to (at least in our generation) since most of our friends are married already. When exactly did this happen? We’ve just come out of school, haven’t we?

Last week in Perfumeland saw the following fine pieces of writing:

Tarleisio of Scentless Sensibilities is on an ELdO roll, this week we get her impression of my personal favorite by the house – Like This. (Here is my take.)

Dee hates again – a wonderfully nice installment of the popular Things I Hate category, Beauty on the Outside takes a closer look at Robert Piguet’s Visa. From the number of comments this has hit a nerve. To quote T – Has this Visa expired?

Carrie loves again – Santal 33 by La Labo is Eyeliner on a Cat‘s new obsession.

Suzanne of Eiderdown Press Perfume Journal writes about her memories of Lancome Magie Noire and her mom. Wonderful post!

Victoria of EauMG takes a look at a wonderful perfume, Ormonde Jayne’s Frangipani. (Here is my take on it.)

Persolaise has posted an article about Frederic Malle Candles by a surprise guest author. 😉

Have a great Sunday!

Thank you so much for the mention, B! It is more appreciated than you know! So what perfume did you wear to the wedding? And was it a grand affair?

Life somehow sneaks up on us when we’re not looking – and where did it all go?? 😉

    • Olfactoria says:

      You are very welcome!

The wedding was a beautiful (and very noble) affair. It was on a castle, the bride came to the church riding a horse! 🙂 We had lots of fun and met many old friends, a lovely day.

  2. Now that’s the kind of wedding we just don’t have around these parts. I would have been found fussing over the horse in the barn. You’ve heard of the Horse Whisperer, well I’m the Horse Singer. 🙂

I’m doing a lot of loving lately, Amouage included. I know they’re not all going to work out so well, I’m just choosing well right now. I’ll ride this wave of ecstasy for now, though, happily.

The Horse Singer – how lovely!
The funniest part was that the groom is very much afraid of horses! 🙂
Amouage has a way of drawing us in with their opulent and impressive perfumes, I know how you feel right now!

  3. Suzanne says:

Wow, that does sound like a grand and very romantic wedding ceremony. Curious to know what perfume you wore to it, too.

It wasn’t the most relaxing weekend here, as my father-in-law is in the hospital, so we traveled to see him today and just got back. But we’re glad we went, of course, and are grateful that other family members live near him and are there to care for him.

Thanks for the very kind mention, Birgit. Wishing you a good night in Vienna.

    • Olfactoria says:

I wanted to wear OJ Champaca, and at the last minute decided to go with something comforting to me, as I was not feeling very healthy, so I chose Jo Malone Sweet Milk, a lovely and very tender scent. I got many compliments on it! 🙂

I am sorry to hear about your father in law, I hope he recovers fast!
