Happy Easter everyone!
Today we are meeting for a family breakfast at the Grandparents house. There is a big garden where my older son hopes to catch a glimpse of the Easter bunny or at least find some Easter eggs and other small gifts it might have left.
My younger son will be content trying his new skill – walk, fall, repeat – on the green grass and maybe inspect a passing bug or two.
My husband is looking forward to eating his Mom’s Ukrainian Easter delicacies.
And I? I am going to put my feet up and let the sun shine on my SPF 50-ied nose, smelling spring-like and festive at the same time in my trusted Puredistance I, the perfect Holiday perfume.
Last week I had a lot of catching up to do, many lovely articles saw the light of day in Perfumeland. Here are a few for your browsing pleasure:
A few of us banded together to make a stand for high quality perfume writing in print magazines, even if the editors there choose to go on ignoring us, it still felt good. Thank you for all your comments of support! In case you missed it…
Dee on Beauty on the Outside posed an interesting question that sparked many quirky responses – how does the Apocalypse affect the dedicated Perfumista? Not much, it turns out. 😉
Carrie of Eyeliner on a Cat reviewed Aura Candles. Smells lovely…
Vanessa of Bonkers about Perfume worries about Blogorexia, let us hope she doesn’t waste away in front of the computer, write less entertaining posts, people!
Gaia at The Non-Blonde writes about Calyx by Prescriptives, an “equal-opportunity scrubber” that I have worn in my youth, but that has significantly changed since then, at least that was always my suspicion, I am glad Gaia sees it the same.
Persolaise reviewed a L’Artisan perfume – Coeur de Vétiver Sacré – that I am also testing at the moment, I love his take on it.
Which leads us to my most popular posts in the past week, my visit to the L’Artisan boutique in London and the sneak peek at the upcoming Mon Numeró collection.
I hope you all have a great Easter weekend, is Monday a holiday in the rest of the world too? What are your plans?
In my home, my husband and I have a sort of tradition for holidays: eat non-traditional food. So, we will have Easter tacos. We’re not religious and we’ve got no children, so we’re still floating in that “we do what we feel like” space, and probably will be forever. Oh, but I also plan on buying and eating some Peeps. 🙂
Thanks for the link, Birgit!
I love that state, believe me, I would absolutely prefer doing what I felt like and it would be decidedly different. 🙂 Easter Tacos sound perfect, but what are Peeps?
Only the most delicious candy… marshmellows in the shape of chicks or bunnies, coated in sugar. They taste better than they sound!
You used to only be able to obtain them during easter, but thankfully they are now available for most holidays 🙂
Happy Easter, Birgit! 🙂
Thanks, you too, Jim!
I should probably just sign under Carrie’s post (well, not the taco part). And unfortunately Monday is just a regular work day. But I hope the weather will be good tomorrow and I’ll enjoy this spring holiday even though it’s not mine.
Happy holiday to your family!
Thank you, Undina! Enjoy this spring weekend! 🙂
Peeps!! Peeps are a sugar-coated marshmallow candy shaped like chicks. http://consumerist.com/2011/04/the-story-behind-easter-candy-favorite-peeps.html
Unfortunately, Monday is just a regular day in the US.
Thank you, Alice! They look delicious! 🙂
Happy Easter Birgit to you and yours. Hope you had a lovely day. I went to a BBQ at my friends’s house which was lovely. Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday in the UK and we have a Public Holiday this coming Friday for the Royal Wedding so it’ll be a nice short three day working week. Plus it’s hot and sunny. Hurrah!
To you too, Tara, I’m glad you have such a short week ahead. Enjoy the sunshine!
The hubby and I just got home from his grandparents house, where we enjoyed a lovely easter dinner with about 30 others members of the family. It was a houseful!
I wore Le Labo Poivre 23, and it was perfect (particularly in church in the morning—it blended wonderfully with the incense!).
Hope you had a marvelous day!!!!! 🙂
Wow, a big family!
I believe we both really enjoyed our respective days. 😉
Tara has explained our short week… : – )
I am just back from five days in Germany, and enjoying pottering around the house and doing mundane things like laundry, and de-furring the duvet in the spare room where the cat has snuck in and comprehensively slept on it in my absence!
Pottering sounds great! I am a bit exhausted from family overload this weekend! 😉
Smart cat, btw.
Hm, I’d be curious what you think about L’Artisan’s Vetiver Sacré. It was my favourite no fuss scent last winter (I got loads of warming earthy tea on my skin) – but generally it rather got meh reviews…
I am currently in the test phase of Coeur de Vetiver Sacre, the review will be up in the next two weeks or so! 🙂
