My Perfume Wishlist – The December Issue

It is time again for my current wishlist. Sadly my holiday gift potential is already pretty much exhausted, (but wait for the review of what my DH will get me, it is great, and no, it is not a surprise :)) but a girl can dream. And there is no rush, plenty of time to smell good next year 😉

1. Annick Goutal Les Orientalistes Coffret: I read about it in Nathan Branch´s article here and am obsessed ever since, I wish I never had seen those beautiful pictures!!!

2. Parfumerie Generale Sample Kit: It is called “The Organ”, just look at this, excellent value, but in the end still way too expensive, I don´t need 15ml of each, five would suffice and a third of the price would too.

3. Guerlain Shalimar Ode a la Vanille: it is limited edition, that makes it really dangerous for me, it could be the one that got away, a dilemma to be avoided at all costs. This review on The Non- Blonde makes it sound really enticing too.

Update: I succumbed to his one, prior to publication of this post, it would have been quite unreasonable not to 😉

4. Armani Prive Bois d’Encens: it is supposed to be THE incense fragrance (according to Mr Turin), so who am I to dispute that! But sadly Armani seems to have discontinued it.

5. Andy Tauer Incense Rose: I see a theme emerging here… This one is a must for me, the only question is, when it will join the ranks in my perfume cupboard. See my review here.

What is on your wishlists at the moment? I am curious!

That’s so funny about Ode: do you love it? I like it a lot, but not as much as I thought I was going to. I had this crazy notion that it would be *better* than the original! Silly me 😉

    My Wishlist:

SSS Champagne de Bois (which can’t be had, causing exponential increase in desire)
Chanel Bois des Iles (waiting for the smaller size before I bite the bullet)
Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau—which of course I haven’t yet smelled, but am convinced is perfect for me.
Cartier L’Heure Fougeuse: will never smell, will never own, but a gal can dream.
    Ormonde Jayne sample coffret
    Ineke sample coffret
    Andy Tauer sample coffret

I X’d off two items from the wish list: Ambre Fetiche (got a steal of a deal) and L’Eau Ambree (also a steal). AF is already here and much in use by both me and the hubby, and L’Eau should be here tomorrow!!!

Great list! I have to disclose major ignorance on my part here – but what is the first one? I have never heard of it! (unbelievable, gaping hole in perfumista knowledge, must remedy immediately!!! *scurries off and googles like mad woman*
The Ormonde Jayne coffret is a great deal and almost every perfume inside is a winner for me!
I wish Chanel would introduce small sizes for all the exclusives, smaller still than the new “small” ones.
About Ode: I love it, it is perfect for me. I don´t love it more that the original, but just as much, I´m so happy I got it. This is one flanker that really worked for me 😉

Sonoma Scent Studio—a tiny little artisan perfumer based in California, who makes exquisite perfumes—Indie Scents is carrying a few of them, and The Perfumed Court offers samples and decants (as well as Laurie herself).
I just discovered the line myself, and bought a sample coffret, and loved every single one! There are a couple that I want to own (eventually) but CdB is very much at the top of my list—if you like Bois des Iles, there’s a kinship between them, you’d probably appreciate CdB!

I *almost* bought the OJ set with the coupon code before Thanksgiving… but I bought so many other things that I couldn’t justify it. Maybe in January… 😉

It would be a good idea for me to wear Ode a few more times before I poo poo at it any more; SOTD Tuesday!

You can often find Bois D’Encens refills on E:Bay .I have to say that the Andy Tauer seemed a lot like it to me I could hardly smell the rose.
My wishlist is early Roses Teo Cabanel
    Memoir by Amouage
Rose and Jasmin attars by Amouage.

Thanks for the tip! You are probably right, that one doesn’t need both incense fragrances. Your list sounds very good.
      Welcome to the blog, Angie!

Thank-you , after Christmas I’d be happy to send you a sample of Bois D’Encens which might seem cruel in a way. I know it is somewhere in my collection and I have to dig it out. At least then you can have tested it .
