Sorry, still no pictures! I am writing this from my (new) iPad and I am not sure how or even if (yes, I am that bad) I can add picture to my posts. Tomorrow I am back at the big, old and entirely more familiar PC, where I know what I am doing – at least sometimes. Edit: now I know how to insert pics, yay! Let’s do it shall we?
Today I want to write about a perfect fall scent, that came out this August. It is a celebrity scent of sorts, but so far removed from what this category usually entails, it is a whole different story.
First there is a perfume house known for it’s (let us say it positively) quirkiness and then there is an actress as “un-celebrity” as I can think of, who does her own thing, unbothered by trends or conventions. Tilda Swinton is a stunning and fascinating woman, greatly talented and a person I admire for her uniqueness.
And those two collaborated on a perfume. The outcome could have been horrific, but it is not, it is wonderful actually. A really, really good fragrance, eminently wearable, but still unique.
I don’t particularly like ELdO, since they seem to use their creative freedom to produce perfumes and imagery largely concerned with sex (I ask myself, is that what you need to do, when no commercial brief directs you?). I am not very prudish, but that aesthetic doesn’t appeal to me at all.
This collaboriation though has proven very fruitful.
Like This smells like fall, like pumpkins and spice, immortelle flowers, ginger, cookies and warm orange glow, all at once. It is warm, enveloping, but never overpowering, it smells like the color orange, like Tilda’s hair, maybe.
I love to wear it when I venture out in the cold these days, early in the morning, it reminds me of the warm bed I left behind, or the cookies I made the day before, their scent still lingering a little in the kitchen. It smells of good times, of home, of warmth, of friends and family.
I like this.

The only ELDO I’ve really loved. You describe it exactly as it smells to me, home and comfort and fall. I really wish this one was available somewhere in Canada, but the only shop that carries ELDO doesn’t have Like This.
I would love to send you a little decant. Drop me a line via email if you are interested!
It is such a lovely fragrance, very un-eldo-ish ;;)

I absolutely LOVE this scent. It is on my “to buy” list. It doesn’t smell anything like what I own. I can’t wait until I can get my hands on a bottle.
It is unique and lovely. I wear it a lot in the fall and winter.
I hope you get your bottle soon. 🙂
