My perfume love affair began with Bertrand Duchaufour and it’s been a passion that I share with my mate. Years ago, I purchase Acqua di Parma Cipresso di Toscana for him on a trip to Calabria. Frapin 1697 will always remind me of my first visit to Paris with my husband. I’ve gifted him Sartorial, but in truth, I wear it in winter as a comfort, a manly caress. Amaranthine is bright, yet a warm, personal scent. It speaks of a floral with the fresh earth still lingering in the air. I’d love to add it to my Duchaufour collection. Another Bertrand memory in the making….

I’m not sure I will be an ideal Amaranthine wearer but I have a good reason why I think I should win!
For months last year I kept reading everybody’s praises for this perfume (including yours!). And after each great review I kept testing it in hope I’d get what others were getting from it. It didn’t work but I was insistent. By the sixth time I liked it but my sample was done. The last note in my database for Amaranthine says: “Won’t turn down a free bottle … but not on my “to buy” list. Yet.” So, you can see now, right? 🙂

I would love to win this bottle as I still need to come to grips with it, I have tried it on a few occasions and have liked it a lot but I think that with persistence it would turn into a love for me especially in the warmer weather (should we ever get any that is) 🙂

I feel that Amaranthine and I belong together: it could just be the right fragrance to convert me to this fragrance family I admire, the Florals, but which my skin usually scorns… So yes, Amaranthine and my skin need each other: I already know its spicy notes will be right at home and, well, I can’t wait to smell its floral notesin full bloom! Cue fingers crossed at random.com…^_^

Thank you and Penhaligons.I don’t know if I’m the ideal Amaranthine wearer, Octavian from 1000 fragrances blog makes it sound like one of the sexiest perfumes on earth.By no means my skinny phisique could raise itself to inducing that type of smouldering sensations. Anyways I tried Amaranthine only briefly in London at the beginning of my perfumista days, and to be honest I couldn’t understand what the fuss was all about. But I feel I need to revisit.Unfortunately Amaranthine is not part of the range that Penhaligons have in Dublin.So I’m hoping I might win a bottle here. Who knows a great perfume love might be just around the corner. I will share on Facebook as soon as I figure out how to do that. I don’t Twitter.

I love white florals and spicy florals–this sounds ideal for me! I have not tried Penhaligon’s yet, so this sounds like the perfect first one for me. If I won, it would be only my third full bottle–I need to build up my collection!

I have not been lucky enough yet to try Amaranthine but I do love and admire all things Duchaufour. I’ve read as many reviews as I could find about Amaranthine and even after seeing the list of notes and the descriptions, I still don’t think I can actually tell what it will be like! What I do love is that it sounds like a sexy spicy floral oriental with a creamy inviting dry down. Now all that sounds like perfection to me! And I think my English husband, who is not the typical uptight Englishman, will love it too. From a middle eastern spicy heart to an English toffee finish…yum yum yum! I love that no one expected this of Penhaligon’s, it’s great to see a company surprise the perfume community.

I love this scent beyond reason. I am the ideal Amaranthine wearer because I NEVER call it “Amaranthigh”. 😀

I bought it last year blindly after all the glorious reviews and being a huge fan of Duchaufour and really loved it but my mum loved it even more- so I gave her my bottle and have really missed it!I can really pick banana leaf note which is very similar to my nose to the note used in PG Fellanila, thanks for this draw and enjoy your London trip!

What a generous give-away. I haven’t tried Amaranthine yet, but reading your (old) review, I can’t for the life of me think why I haven’t. A lush floral which dries down into milky sandalwood, yay, count me in, it sounds gorgeous. I don’t really do nice florals, so I’m quite certain this corrupted little thing will purr on my skin like a kitten.

I would love to win this scent…you make it sound lovely. The only Penhalion’s I have ever tried were Fern & Bluebell. Both are nice, but a tad masculine..this sounds more feminine, just like me!

I’m not one to enjoy pretty, light, lovely florals. But throw in tea, woods, clove and other spices and I’m right there, loving the scent. The darker, spicier and more off beat the scent the more I love it! Would love to be entered into the draw.

Monsieur Duchafour is my favorite perfumer! When Amaranthine came out I tried it and was fascinated, but white flowers were just not my thing. I wasn’t entirely comfortable in it. In the last year, my appreciation for the flowers has grown. (I am crazy about Mona di Orio Tuberose- You’re review was spot-on!)
My ‘scent memory’ of Amaranthine is creating an intense craving for it – I simply must experience it again! Thank you for the opportunity… Good luck everyone!

OOOH, yes please! I have (yet) never tried anything from Penhaligon’s, but two of my favourite perfumes are created by him (Traversée du Bosphore and Bling). Several others I REALLY like. Discovering Safran Troublant was akin to landing on a new planet, foreign and utterly enrapturing. I had always been a floral girl. Penhaligon’s Night Scented Stock was my first great perfume love, followed swiftly by Bluebell and Violetta. I didn’t know my beloved flower power perfumers could do the warm, spiced, comforting blend they achieved with Amaranthine until getting my nose in some around Valentine’s Day.
I promised to take a brave step abandoning my ladylike florals for Amaranthine in late summer, the season of exotic vacations and food scents escaping from wide-open windows with hot ovens inside, then along comes this lil draw…

Hello! Thank you (and the folks at Penhaligon’s too) for hosting such a lovely draw. I haven’t smelled Amaranthine, but it sounds positively delicious! I do actually love white flowers, but I’m not much of one for the light, pretty ones or the ripe, voluptuous ones (funny, seeing as those are the two main categories haha), but I love the spiced, sweetened, woody ones. My favorite is actually Sonoma Scent Studio’s Jour Ensoleille which is amazingly rich and actually does remind me very much of sweetened condensed milk or Serge Luten’s Jeux de Peau at turns. Amaranthine sounds like it would be Jour Ensoleille’s older, smoother, more laid-back cousin with the bigger sandalwood presence and freesia and without the oakmoss and patchouli. I am absolutely intrigued by your description of it as languid – in my scent imagination, I think I can almost feel how it must compare, and if I’m close, then it might just be exactly the white floral I’ve been searching for. 🙂
I also think that the name is beautifully romantic, from the Greek meaning “unfading.” 🙂
